How to Find Phone Numbers Online Free
1. Use a reverse address search. You can try searching a person's address if a search on his name doesn't produce results. Use reverse address searches at SuperPages.com, WhitePages.com or other online phone directories.
2. Search at Pipl.com. This free, online people-finding site scours the Internet for information on people and consolidates it in a surprisingly comprehensive fashion. Pipl not only searches major Web sites like Facebook but also searches the 'deep Web'--sites that Google and other search engines typically don't include.
3. Check your library. Public libraries generally have access to specialty databases and directories that are not otherwise available to the general public. For instance, ReferenceUSA is database of more than 200 million names, addresses and phone numbers across the United States, and many libraries carry this service. Your library may offer Web access to its databases so that you don't have to be at the library to use them.

How to Send SMS Text from the Internet
1. Ask your friend which carrier he uses. The most popular U.S. cell phone providers include Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint.
2. Find out the email extension that applies to the cell phone provider. Each provider has one--for example, '@vtext.com' for Verizon or '@tmomail.net' for T-Mobile. This is how non-cell phone users can communicate with subscribers through the Internet. See Resources below for a full listing of the addresses for major U.S. cell phone companies.
3. Add the extension to the end of your recipient's 10-digit cell phone number (leave off the country code). For instance, '2135551212@vtext.com' would be the address for cell phone number 213-555-1212 if the subscriber was a Verizon customer.
4. Open your email account and compose a new message. Enter the email address for the cell phone in the 'To' field.
5. Type in a subject for your text and your message. The message should be around 150 characters or less, just as if you were sending a short text from a phone. Send it and wait a few moments to ensure that it goes through successfully. If you receive a return email from the mail daemon, it means that you typed the phone number or address incorrectly--check the number and provider email information, modify, and try to send again.
6. Receive messages from the cell phone back to your email address. All the recipient has to do is hit 'reply' to send a short message back to you.

How to Send a Text Message on a Cell Phone
1. Open or turn on your phone. Some phones will offer messaging as an option from the main screen. If not, press the button that will take you to the menu screen.
2. Select 'Messaging' or 'Messages' from the menu screen.
3. Choose 'Send a message.' Some phones will give you the option of sending a voice message or a text message. Text messages might be labeled 'SMS message' on older phones.

5. Hit the number of the letter you'd like to type several times until the letter you want appears. For example, if you'd like to type the letter 'c' press the 2 button 3 times. If you press it enough times, it should cycle through lowercase and uppercase letters.

How to Send International Text Messages for Free
1. Use a free text message (also known as SMS-short message service) site such as Text4Free.net and SendSMSNow.com that will allow you to send text messages to your target country. A list of other sites can be found on the Gecko and Fly website, as well as on Free Globe SMS.
2. Read carefully the site's terms of use and privacy policies to see how both your mobile number (if you are required to provide one) and that of the SMS recipient will be used by the site. If the site requires registration, the email address or phone number may be used for advertising purposes. This is not the case with all texting sites.
3. Type in your phone number or email address (whichever may be required by the particular texting website you use), the recipient's phone number and your message in the respective text fields on the text message website. You may be required to choose the recipient's cell phone carrier from a drop-down menu. This information is not required in all cases.
