One type of modem.
Verify that you have a high-speed Internet connection. This will be either via cable, digital subscriber line, or satellite. You can't convert your PC to wireless technology if you have dial-up. For any of the high-speed services you will have a modem which is connected by cables to both your incoming signal from your Internet service provider and your computer.
2.

A PCI card ready to install.
Decide whether you will install a peripheral component interconnect (PCI) card or a USB adapter in your PC. The USB adapter installs quickly and easily, taking only a few seconds to connect. The PCI card requires more effort but has a stronger signal than the USB adapter. If you have chosen to install the PCI card, proceed to step 3. If you have decided to go with the USB adapter, skip step 3 and proceed to step 4 of these instructions.
3.

PCI connectors on the motherboard.
Install the PCI card using these steps. Unplug the PC. Disconnect it from the communications cable. Remove screws holding the computer's side in place. On the motherboard, locate a white plastic slot whose size matches your PCI card. Remove the corresponding cover plate from the opening on the back of the PC. Slide your card into the connector. Match the PCI edge connector with the open slot on the motherboard. The card should snap into place with a slight push; don't force it. The wide end of the PCI board will fill the spot where you removed the cover plate. Secure with the screw removed earlier. Plug in the computer and turn it on.

Install the USB adapter by plugging it into an open USB port.
5. Connect the wireless router to the modem with a communications cable.
6.

Your PC is ready to work in wireless mode.
Install the router software on your PC. Then install the PCI drivers on the PC. The USB adapter should not require any software installation, but you may need to physically connect the PC and the router the first time the router is used. If the PC is not close to the laptop you can use a laptop computer to initialize the router for its first use. Once your router is activated you can disconnect the communications cable. The PC will now connect to the Internet without any communications cables.

How to Figure Out Someone's Cell Number

1. Make sure that you have the correct spelling for the name of the person you want to find. It's helpful if you have the person's full name, including the middle name or middle initial, because this makes it easier to narrow down the results you get. Imagine how many people have similar names in the United States.
2. Gather other helpful information about the person you want to find. For example, age or date of birth and current address help to get a more specific result.
3. Go to phone directory websites like WhitePages.com, ZabaSearch.com or CellPhoneRegistry.net to do your search. There is no charge for a search on these sites, and there is a chance you might get lucky and find the cell phone number of the person using this free method.
4. Make use of a paid online cell phone directory. Sometimes online phone directories charge you for this type of search, but it is a nominal fee. If you are not successful finding someone's cell phone number by name search, utilizing a paid service may be your best option. Just visit the site, pay the required fee and perform your search, and the cell phone directory will come up with the person's cell phone number. A small fee to get the phone number you're looking for can be a price worth paying.
5. Try a people search by name. This is another way to get the information you need about a person. Visit a site like PeopleFinders.com, enter the person's full name, and you can find their contact information, including addresses and phone numbers.

How to Block Toll Free Numbers

DO-NOT-CALL LIST
1. Go to donotcall.gov.
2. Click the 'Register a Phone Number' button.
3. Enter your area code in the first column, and your seven-digit phone number in the second column. Enter up to three phone numbers at a time. You can enter the number either with or without hyphens.
4. Enter your email address twice on the lines below where you entered the phone numbers. The government needs the email address to confirm your request. You must have an email address to sign up for the do-not-call list.
5. Watch for the confirmation email and click on the link in the email to complete the registration of the phone numbers. If you do not receive confirmation within a few hours, check your spam filter or junk mail folder. Your registration will not expire. The telephone numbers you submitted will remain on the list until you request their removal.
6. File a complaint at donotcall.gov if the calls continue for more than a month after you registered the number. Businesses have a grace period of one month to scrub their list of any new numbers on the do-not-call list.
DEBT COLLECTORS
7. Look up the number calling you to confirm that it is a debt collector. Many services are available to do this.
8. Answer their next call to you and request a 'written collections notice sent via U.S. Mail.' They must send you this notice within five business days. If they call you again, you can sue them in federal court for up to $1,000 in statutory damages plus legal fees for violation of the Federal Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). If they send you the notice in the mail, they are allowed to start contacting you by phone again after 30 days. But this can be prevented by following the next step.
9. Write a letter to the address you find on the letter they sent you. Do not send it to any post office box mentioned. There should be a street address somewhere in their correspondence. Sometimes they bury it in the letter's fine print. In the letter, request proof of their identity (since they're asking you to send them money), proof of their legal ability to collect debt IN YOUR STATE (not theirs), the amount of the debt, how they acquired the debt (if they are not the original lender) and the name and address of the original creditor. State that they are not to contact you except by U.S. mail. This will stop the calls. Their calling you again allows you to sue them in federal court for up to $1,000 (again) for violation of the FDCPA.
10. Deliver this letter at the post office, where you will request that it be sent 'via certified mail with a return receipt.' Keep all receipts.
11. Hire a lawyer if the phone calls continue, or if the debt collector continues debt collection by mail without complying with the requests made in your letter. The lawyer will help you recover statutory damages and legal fees in federal court for their violating the FDCPA.

How to Find a Free Cell Phone Directory

1. In a search engine, enter a search such as 'free cell phone directory' or 'find cell phone numbers free.'
2. Scroll through the list of search results, evaluating which site looks the most reputable.
3. Try a few different sites to ensure that they truly are free directories, then decide on the one that suits you.

How to Register for Free Traffic Alerts

1. Determine what kind of traffic alerts you need---this will help you choose a website. You may want a periodic alert to all local traffic conditions, a daily alert for a particular route or an alert that is administered only when traffic reaches a certain intensity.
2. Navigate to a free traffic alert website (see Resources) and register for an account. Opening an account with a traffic alert website is the most reliable way of getting consistent alerts---by doing so, you can ensure that you are alerted consistently based on the alert conditions you decided upon.
3. Enter into the website the route for which you want traffic alerts, and choose which conditions you wish to be alerted to. For example, you can request that you be alerted only under certain traffic conditions, like heavy traffic jams.
4. Download a widget for your computer. Different widgets---small applications---offer different types of traffic alerts that are always only a mouse-click away. You could download a widget designed to give traffic conditions in Paris, or a more generalized widget produced by traffic.com.
