How to Block a Number on a Sprint Cell Phone
1. Request Sprint to block all incoming calls. Currently Sprint is unable to block a single incoming phone number, but they can block all incoming phone numbers at no charge to you. This is handy if you wish to not be distracted by any incoming phone calls for a temporary time period (for example, if you're studying for an exam). Call Sprint Customer Service at (888) 211-4727 and request blocking on all incoming calls to your cell phone number. When a person calls your number, he hears continuous ringing (no message). To resume receiving incoming calls, call Sprint Customer Service and request termination of call blocking.
2. Restrict numbers on your Sprint cell phone. To restrict, or block, a phone number, it must first be in your cell phone contact list. Go to your 'Settings' option (if you don't see this feature on your phone, check your cell phone documentation). Scroll down the Settings options, select the 'More' option, scroll to the 'Restrict and Lock' option and select it. If a prompt for your lock code displays, enter the last 4 digits of your cell phone number. Select the 'Restrict Voice' option and select the 'Incoming Calls' option. Review the options. Depending on your cell phone, you can either restrict all incoming calls or a specific number. When you wish to unblock calls, select the 'Unlock' option.
3. Test free call blocking software for Palm devices. If you have Sprint service on a Palm device, you can download a free trial for call blocking software that lets you block all incoming calls, selected incoming phone numbers and more. Go to Wishsolutions.com and press the 'Products' link in the left column. Under 'Palm OS Apps' category, press the 'Download trial here' link (next to 'Callblock Basic Edition'). This displays the CallBlock Basic Edition service on the MobiHand vendor website. In the box on the top right, press the 'Free Trial' option and follow the instructions. After a free trial period, you must purchase this software to continue using it.
4. Test free call blocking software for any cell phone. TrapCall offers a call-blocking service that lets you block all calls, specified calls, unmask 'Unknown' caller IDs and more. Go to Trapcall.com, press the 'Try Trapcall free!' button at the bottom right of the page and follow the instructions. After a free trial period, you must purchase this service to continue using it.

How to Get a Free Phone Upgrade With Sprint

You must also wait at least one year from the date of your last contract extension or 22 months after your last contract extension for a 2 year contract. (See References)

3. Click on 'Upgrade phone' and select the phone number of the line you want to upgrade. Browse the selection of phones available. Look for handsets whose final cost is $0.00. Next to each handset will be a list including the original price, the upgrade price and any online discounts. Select the phone you want and click the 'Upgrade' option followed by 'Select.' You will be directed to the checkout. Fill out your mailing address and billing information. Existing customers have the option of having any taxes or additional accessory purchases billed to their next monthly phone bill.
4. Agree to a one or two year contract extension. For specific phones, you may be required to get the longer two year contract to get the free upgrade. Online you may be required to indicate that you accept the terms of the contract agreement by clicking on a check box near the bottom of the contract. This serves as your 'signature' on the contract.

How to Send Emails to Net10 Cell Phones
1. Locate the Net10 provider network for the email recipient. The second half of the email address to any cell phone is the provider network address. Therefore, you must locate which provider the Net10 customer is using. Free services such as FoneFinder.net and TelcoData.us (see Resources) allow you to insert a cell phone area code and the phone number prefix to determine which network services the Net10 customer.
2. Format the SMS address. After you find out which network the Net10 recipient is using, format the address into the SMS-compatible format. SMS stands for Short Message Service, and each network has its own format. For example, the SMS format for a phone on the AT&T network is @txt.att.net. Similarly, the SMS for the Verizon network is @vtext.com. For a complete listing of the SMS format for each cell phone carrier, visit the About Prepaid Cell Phones website (see Resources).
3. Insert the recipient phone number. Now that you have the SMS format, insert the recipient's Net10 area code and phone number before the network SMS address in the 'To' field in your email software. For example, sending an email to a Net10 customer using the Verizon network would look something like this: 2121234567@vtext.com.
4. Limit the email to 160 characters. Similar to text messages, the Net10 recipient can only receive messages with a maximum of 160 characters. Remember SMS means Short Message Service, and short is defined as 160 characters or less.
