How to Send Free Tones to Cricket Phones


1. Navigate to a website that offers free ringtone downloads. (See References.) Browse through the offered music genre categories until you find the ringtone that you want to send to your Cricket phone. You can also search for a specific artist, album or song with the provided search bar.
2. Click on the ringtone you want to send to your Cricket phone, and then input your 10-digit cell phone number into the text box and click 'Send.' The ringtone is sent to your Cricket phone in a text message.
3. Click 'View' on your Cricket phone to view the text message. Then press the right soft key to access 'Options' and select 'Save as Ringtone' to save it to your Cricket phone.

How to Send Music to a Friend for Free


Sending Music to a Phone
1. Launch your email program on your computer and select 'Compose' to send an email.
2. Click 'Add Attachment' and select a music file from your computer and click 'Open.' This will attach the music file to your email.
3. Enter the email address for your friend's cell phone number and carrier (see 'References' below). You will have to use your friend's 10-digit number and the domain name for their cell phone provider.
4. Click 'Send' to send the file to their phone for free, which they will receive through text message.
Sending Music to a Computer
5. Navigate to a file uploading site on your Internet browser. Such sites include Rapidshare, MegaUpload, SpeedyShare, DepositFiles, HotFile, MediaFire, ZShare and Sharebee.
6. Select the 'Upload' tab on the file uploading site and select a file from your computer to upload, and click 'Open.' Allow a few minutes for the song to upload to the site, and you will be presented with a URL for the download link.
7. Copy down the URL and give it to your friend. You can text it to the friend, email it or simply give it to them, and they will be able to navigate to this URL and click 'Download' to open and save the song.

How to Send a Contact With Handcent SMS


1. Tap on the Handcent icon from the menu of your phone. This will open the application.
2. Click on your 'Menu' key on your phone, once inside the application to bring up a menu with more options.
3. Choose 'New Message.'
4. Press the '+' button to add a recipient to the SMS message. This is the person you want to send the contact to.
5. Press the 'Menu' key on your phone again. Choose 'Attach.'
6. Choose 'Contact' from the menu that pops open. Then choose 'SMS (Plain text).' This will open your address book.
7. Choose the contact that you wish to send to the recipient. Tap on the contact, and it will be added to your SMS message.
8. Click on 'Send.'

How to SMS Text Yourself From Gmail


Enabling SMS
1. Open your browser and log in to Gmail.
2. Click the gear icon at the top-right of the Gmail window and select 'Mail settings.'
3. Click the 'Labs' tab.
4. Click 'Enable' next to the 'SMS (text messaging) in Chat' feature.
5. Click 'Save Changes' to enable SMS.

6. Type your mobile number into the 'Chat' search box.
7. Click 'Send SMS' in the pop-out menu, which appears as you type the number.
8. Enter the contact details into the pop-up window. Click 'Save' to save your number and open the chat window.
9. Type your short text message. You are limited to 140 characters before the message is automatically split into multiple messages. The number of characters remaining is displayed on the bottom of the chat window, whenever you get close the maximum.

How to Get Free Ringtones Without Internet on Your Cellphone


1. Navigate to a website that offers free ringtones, such as PhoneZoo (phonezoo.com), Zedge (zedge.net) or Mob11.com. Create an account at the website to register your phone so you can easily send ringtones (and wallpapers) to your phone with one click.
2. Select the delivery method of receiving the ringtone via a text message. In PhoneZoo, go to 'My Zoo' and 'Delivery Settings.' Change the 'Delivery Method' to 'Multimedia Message With an Attachment.'
3. Find a ringtone that you want to have on your phone. You can either upload your own music and clip it to your liking or use the Search feature to find a premade ringtone. There are plenty to choose from to fit your needs. You can even use the top ringtones downloaded as an idea for tunes you may want for yourself. Press the 'Play' button to audition the track before sending it to your phone.
4. After finding the ringtone you like, click on it. Then click on 'Send to phone.' Your ringtone will then be sent to you as a text message.
5. On your cellphone, open the text and select 'Save Attachment.' Then select 'Apply as ringtone.'

How to Activate a Phone on a Factory BMW X3


1. Turn on your Bluetooth mobile phone inside of your BMW.
2. Select 'iPhone,' 'Settings' and 'Bluetooth' on your display.
3. Check to make certain the check box has a mark under Bluetooth Communication Active on the display. Press the controller down to activate Bluetooth Communication if inactive, or if it does not have a check mark. The message on the Communication Menu displays, 'Bluetooth is now enabled.'
4. Select 'Phone' under Bluetooth, then select 'Pair New Phone.'
5. Select 'Start Pairing.' A message appears on the display verifying you activated the pairing mode.
6. Choose 'Bluetooth' from your iPhone Connection Menu. Click 'Enable Bluetooth' on your phone. Your iPhone will now search for new devices until it finds and displays, 'BMW XXXXX,' where 'X' represents the last five digits of your BMW's Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).
7. Select 'Yes' when your iPhone prompts you to pair the iPhone with your BMW. Enter a passkey or PIN on your iPhone from one to 16 digits of your choice when prompted. Choose a number you can always remember.
8. Confirm your passkey when your BMW prompts you. You have 20 seconds to confirm and reenter your passkey into the display box. You will have to start over with entering a passkey if you wait too long. Depending on your Bluetooth iPhone, you may be required to enter the passkey into your BMW first, and then your iPhone.
9. Access your phone book directory through the iDrive system once it has finished uploading. The BMW iDrive system, located by the gear shift at hand level, allows you to access all of your communication, entertainment and navigation controls with one toggle and seven keys. The uploading time can take several minutes depending on the number of contacts you have in your phone book. Select the contact to place your call from your BWM X3 phone.
10. Activate up to four iPhones for your BMW. Only one phone can be active at a time.

How to Send a Free Web Text


1. Open your email client. You can use either a dedicated desktop email client (such as Outlook) or a web-based service.
2. Compose a new email. In the 'To:' address bar, type the 10-digit phone number you wish to send a text to, followed by the appropriate carrier email text code. For instance, if you want to text a person on the Verizon network with the phone number 555-123-4567, enter '5551234567@vtext.net' into the 'To:' field. See Resources for a full list of carrier email text codes.
3. Enter text in the body of the email. Text messages are compact communications, usually limited to 160 characters. Stay under the 160-character limit to prevent your message from getting cut off.
4. Send the email. Your communication will be sent as a text message to the phone number entered. If they reply, you will receive a email in your inbox. To continue texting back and forth, simply reply to the received email.
