How to Become an SMS Reseller

1. Acquire capital to buy the SMSs in bulk. The cost varies depending on where you are located and your service provider. For example, if you buy 50,000 to 99,999 SMSs from Yakoon, it charges you $0.047 per unit. The more you buy, the cheaper the price per unit. Ensure you look around for other providers. The Internet is a great tool where you can get other providers and compare prices. Some providers have a minimum purchase requirement.
2. Acquire a website for your business. This will not only help you advertise your services but you can also keep track of how your business is doing. Customers can have an account where they can recharge their SMSs and keep track of their balances. It's is much more convenient and makes your business easier to manage from the comfort of your home. You can also get extra income by providing advertising services to other companies. Some providers also provide you with a fully hosted website once you purchase SMSs from them.
3. Purchase the bulk SMSs. Once you have the capital and you identify the provider who you would like to be your supplier, you can then purchase the SMSs and start selling.
4. Advertise your business to get clients. You can do this on social networks, such as Facebook, MySpace and Twitter. Advertising does need to be expensive. You can also approach businesses and give them a presentation on how they can use SMSs in their businesses. You can provide promotional services to attract people to your business.

How to Send a Free SMS Using PHP

1. Select the phone number that the message will be sent to. This could be acquired from a database, file, or HTTP headers. For this example, we will assume it was sent through HTTP using the GET method.
2. Append the carrier's email domain to the end of the number. This example uses only three possible carriers.
3. Set the body of the message. Remember that most mobile carriers only allow messages of 140 characters or fewer to be sent and received via SMS.
4. Set the message's headers. You will need to set a 'From' header. You can set it to a standard email, or to the number of your mobile device (as long as you append the proper domain to the end). Any other headers are optional and may not even be read by the carrier's server.
5. Call PHP's built-in mail function to send the message. Leave the second parameter blank, since SMS messages don't have a subject field.

How to Unlock a Telstra Mobile Phone

1. Find your IMEI (international mobile equipment identification) number by entering *#06# into the keypad on your cell phone. Instantly, you will get a 15-to-17-digit number on the screen. Write it down.
2. Find a mobile phone unlocking site. Some that you might consider using are GSMLiberty, TheTravelInsider, or Lur.nu (see Resource list). These sites provide codes tailored to your specific phone's make and model and the carrier that you use. As of 2010, they usually range in price from $9.99 to $24.99.
3. Go to the site that you've chosen to use and enter the IMEI number in the first drop-down box that you see. Then, for country, enter Australia, and for mobile phone service provider, enter Telstra. Then enter the make and model of your phone and hit 'Submit.'
4. Enter a valid email address and your payment details, and hit 'Buy.'
5. Check your email in 24 to 48 hours and you will find unlock codes and instructions on how to use them. Write the codes down.

7. Enter the unlock code into your keypad just as you see it. Do not add any spaces. Then hit 'Ok' and wait for a few seconds. The phone will turn off and restart. Once it does, look at the top of the screen. You should see the name and logo of the new network. Congratulations. You have successfully unlocked your Telstra mobile phone.

How to Download Ringtones for a Cell Phone

The Built-in Method
1. Determine if your wireless carrier provides you with a built-in method for downloading ringtones right from your phone. This is usually the most expensive method (around $2.50 per tone), but quite simple.
2. Press the 'Web' or 'Internet' button on your phone. Once it loads, go to the 'Downloads' section. From there there should be a section for Ringtones.
3. Preview and download new tones for your phone from the ringtones section.
Free Ringtones
4. Access a computer with Internet.
5. Go to your favorite search engine and search for 'free ringtones.' You will get lots of results.
6. Choose a site that does not require registration. If you do have to register, make sure that any boxes that would sign you up for emails or additional services are NOT checked.
7. Find ringtones you like and have them sent to your phone. This will require entering your carrier and phone number if you haven't already. The new ringtones will be sent to your phone.
Setting Your New Ringtones
8. Decide if you want to set one ringtone as a universal ring, which will play every time you receive a call, or whether you want to set specific ringtones to correspond to specific entries in your phonebook. That way different ringtones will play when different people call you.
9. Set a universal ringtone in the settings section of your phone. If you cannot find how to do this, consult the manual for your phone. If you do not have the manual, you can probably find it online at either the manufacturer's site (Motorola, Nokia, etc.) or your carrier's site (Verizon Wireless, Sprint, Cingular, etc.)
10. Set a ring that is specific to a caller by first finding that person in your phonebook. Select the person for which you want the special ring. Select 'Edit.' Scroll down in the phonebook entry and select 'Ring.' Choose the ringtone you want to play when that person calls.
