How to Get Free 411 Phone Numbers

1. First, all you need is to have phone service. This can be through any cell phone provider or a home phone. Even if you have to use a pay phone, it is still free. As long as you can dial a 1-800 number you can use this service. It is totally free.
2. Next, just pick up the phone and dial 800-373-3411 It spells 1-800-FREE411. How easy is that.
3. You will then go through several voice prompts. After you make your selection, you will then listen to a commercial or advertisement. This is what keeps the service free. The advertisers pay for your service. You can even have the results sent to you in a text. This is convenient if you do not have a paper and pen handy to write the number down.

What Is an SMS Bomber?

Software Options
Cellular companies do not provide an SMS bomber in normal text-messaging features. You can locate the free SMS bomber software online. However, programmers design the software for a particular type of phone. For example, some SMS bombers are compatible with Android phones. Others work on iPhones. Follow the download instructions of the software provider to get the bomber on your phone. Examples of websites that provide an SMS bomber or links to several bombers include 4shared, FilesTube and Freeware Pocket PC.
Usage
Using an SMS bomber does not typically require any advanced technical skills. You enter the phone number of the receiver, the text message and how many messages you want to send. The software is similar to normal text messaging, with the obvious exception being that you enter a number to send duplicate copies instead of sending only one message to the recipient. Some programs can send unlimited texts, so you need to be careful when you enter the number of messages to send. You should also remember that the messages show you as the sender. An SMS bomber is not a device to secretly spam or trick someone.
Messaging Costs
When using an SMS bomber, your cellular provider charges you what it would normally charge you to send text messages. If you are charged per text, the bombs you send cost you the per-text rate for every message you send. Some cell plans come with unlimited texting. In addition, the recipient of the texts may unexpectedly incur additional text charges or run out of credits if he does not have unlimited texting. Preferably, you should use an SMS bomber only if you know the recipient has an unlimited texting plan.
Provider Contract
When you sign up for service with a cellular provider, you agree to a contract with various terms of use. Contracts often have a clause dealing with abuse of the system. For example, Verizon reserves the right to limit or cancel your account if you spam or engage in abusive messaging. A company could determine that you have abused the messaging system if you use an SMS bomber. This is particularly true if you have a plan for unlimited texting. Excessive use of a bomber could cause you to lose your texting privileges or affect your account status.
Legal Issues
If you repeatedly bomb someone, the recipient could accuse you of harassment or stalking. Because of this, use an SMS bomber only as a joke between friends. If you use it to harass or annoy someone, you could be committing a crime.

How to Find a Residential Phone Number

1. Write down the name of the person whose residential phone number you are trying to locate. This should include the full first name, surname, any middle initials they may use and if they are a Ms, Miss, Mrs., Mr., or Dr. If you are not sure of the spelling of the name, write as many variations that you can think of. This is important because if you cannot find the number with the first spelling, you can trying looking for the other spellings straight away, and not have to waste time thinking of different ways to spell the name.
2. Look in your address book to see if you have the person's address, as a street address can be very useful in finding a phone number. If you don't have the address, write down the city and state they live in.
3. Locate the telephone directory that the phone company would have left at your front door. This is only useful to find people located in the area served by the phone book, as these directories only contain numbers for people in your area. Look for the listing based upon their last name. For example, if you are looking for Jane Smith's phone number, look up Smith first and then go to first names beginning with J. However, if you do not see a match for Jane Smith at all or not at the correct address, there are other options you can try.
4. Call 411 or your local directory assistance number. The directory assistance representative will ask for the name and city and state of the person you are trying to locate. If you only know the state, he or she can look for just the name and state, but if the name is pretty common, it will be unlikely that he or she will be able to give you the correct number. These are directory assistance workers and not detectives and are unlikely to spend a lot of time trying to dissect the basic information given to them.
5. Go online and be a residential phone number detective yourself. There are many free sites that are useful in finding home phone numbers such as whitepages.com. These sites allow you to input the information you know in as many different ways as you can to try and locate the phone number. Also, this is helpful because if you are not sure which state the person is in, you can different states with their name. Again, depending on how popular the name is, there may be pages to wade through to find the correct listing. Hire a search company if you are not having any luck. You may not be able to find the number because the person has the number unlisted through the phone company. A search company such as Intellis will do a search for you for a price and as long as you have an accurate name, the firm should be able to find something; even if the address is incorrect because old addresses are usually listed in people's reports.
