How to Get Free Directory Assistance on a Cell Phone

1. First, program this number into your cell phone, 1-800-goog411. You can also set it in your home phone speed dial.
2.
The service is free and sure comes in handy when you're traveling or just anywhere that you don't have a phone book or your rolodex handy. You no longer have to waste your money on information calls and don't waste your time manually dialing the number.
3. If you're in a car and need to call the golf course but don't know the number. Hit the speed dial for the Google 411 that you programmed. (Actually I don't recommend messing with a cell phone while driving. Have the passenger do this or pull into a parking lot.)
4. The voice at the other end says, 'City and State.' Just say, 'Kissimmee, Florida' He says, 'Business, Name or Type of Service.' Just say, Falcon's Fire Golf Course.'He says, 'Connecting' and the golf course answers the phone. Wow, what service. It is nationwide for business numbers (not personal numbers) and it is absolutely free.
5. To see a demonstration, just click on the link below and watch the short clip.

How to Send a Free Text Through Your PC

1. Choose a website to use. There are many websites that offer the same service. Three such sites are Text 'Em, Text 4 Free and SMS Everywhere.
2. Enter the phone number of the person you want to text and his mobile carrier, such as AT&T or Verizon. You will need to know the carrier. Some sites allow you to text more than one person at a time, with the same message.
3. Type the message you want to text. Include enough information for the person you are texting to know who the message is from and get back to you, if you want him to. For example, you might want to write at the end of your text, 'I'm at Jimmy's house. Call me there' and then your name. Some sites will ask for your email address, although this is generally optional. If this is the case, the text you send will display your email address so the person knows who the sender is.
4. Attach a photo, if you want to do this and there is an option to do so. There is no guarantee, however, that your recipient will get it unless she has a phone that allows picture messages.
5. Agree to the terms of use. Such agreements may state that there is no guarantee that the message will be received and that it is possible that if your recipient responds to the message, she will be charged, depending on the text plan she has.
6. Send the message. It should send right away and show up, just like any other text message would, on your recipient's phone. Depending on what site you use, how the text formats will vary. It might say something like 'FRM: anonymous@textem.net MSG: I'm at Jimmy's house. Call me there--John.'
