How to Create Ringtones for Verizon's LG V Cast Phone for Free
Using a Ringtone Service
1. Visit an online ringtone service that allows you to create custom ringtones, such as Myxer, ToneBee, Phonezoo or Brinked. Many ringtone services allow users to create ringtones for free. Depending upon the service you choose, you may be required to register for a free account before downloading or creating a ringtone.
2. Click on the 'Create Ringtone' or 'Make your Own' option to create a ringtone from a music file on your computer. Depending upon the ringtone service you choose, the custom ringtone option will differ.
3. Upload the music file you want to use as your ringtone. Many ringtone services allow you to upload a variety of popular music formats, including MP3, WAV and WMA. You can upload a song by clicking on the 'Browse' button, choosing a music file on your computer and clicking 'Open.' After uploading your file, the ringtone project screen will open.
4. Select a clip from the song you uploaded by clicking and dragging the highlighted box. Most ringtone services allow you to select a 20- to 30-second song clip. You can preview your clip selection by clicking 'Play.' Experiment with different sections of the song until you're satisfied with your selection.
5. Apply effects, such as 'Fade In' and 'Fade Out' to your clip. Ringtones are often looped when you receive an incoming call. Adding fading effects will provide a smooth transition for the looping process.
6. Click 'Continue' and enter your 10-digit cell phone number. After entering your phone number, click 'Send.' The ringtone will be sent to your phone in the form of a multimedia message. After opening the message, select the 'Save' option and save the song clip as a ringtone.
Using an Audio Editor
7. Download and install an audio editing program, such as Audacity or Adobe Soundbooth, onto your computer.
8. Click on the 'File' tab and select 'Open.' Locate the song you want to use as your ringtone and click 'Open.' The song will be imported into the program, and the track will appear in the editing screen.
9. Select a small clip of the song and make sure the clip is less than 30 seconds. If the clip is more than 30 seconds, you may have trouble saving it as a ringtone on your cell phone. After selecting your favorite song clip, use the 'Trim' feature to remove the remaining audio in the song. Your clip selection will remain on the screen.
10. Click on the 'Effects' tab and add the 'Fade In' and 'Fade Out' effects, which will create a fluid transition when your ringtone loops on your cell phone.
11. Click on the 'File' tab and select the 'Export' option. Name your new ringtone file and save it as an MP3. Depending upon your cell phone model, you can upload the new ringtone to your phone by using a USB cable or send the file to your phone in an email.

4. Create a subject for your email, such as 'Message from ____________'

6. Click Send, and later verify your message was received.

How to Get a Free Upgrade From T
1. Check your eligibility. As of the date of publication, if you're in a two-year contract, you qualify for a partial discount every 12 months. A full discount is available to you if it has been 22 months since your last upgrade. If you signed a one-year contract, you must wait 11 months before you're eligible for any upgrade discounts. Contact customer care by calling 1-877-453-1304 to verify your eligibility.
2. Shop around. T-Mobile offers different pricing online and in-store. If you find a phone you wish to upgrade to, check both places before buying. Third-party retailers also offer their own pricing and promotions, so checking these stores could save you as well. If you find an advertised price that beats T-Mobile's, be sure to get a copy of the ad as T-Mobile may be able to match that price.
3. Watch for promotions. Occasionally, T-Mobile and other authorized T-Mobile dealers offer free upgrades with waived activation fees. Promotions usually change monthly, and you can often find the best deals around the holidays or back-to-school months. If you don't need a new phone immediately, wait for a promotion that gives you the most bang for your buck.
4. Help out your sales representative. Most sales reps are paid on commission and have a monthly sales quota to meet. Offer to buy an accessory or add a new feature to your plan in exchange for a waived upgrade fee.
5. Call customer service. If you aren't able to negotiate with your sales rep or find a waived activation fee promotion, you may be able to have the $18 charge removed from your bill. Call customer service at 1-877-453-1304 and ask for a bill credit. It helps to call before your return period is up -- 20 to 30 days in most cases. A representative will often credit your account to prevent you from returning your phone.
