How to Send an SMS Worldwide
1. Confirm with your mobile phone network that your international messaging service is active. If not, request for the activation. Check the destination country of your intended recipient, if it is a part of the list of global partners of your network. Most telecom companies provide international texting services to hundreds of countries all over the world. However, there are still some countries that may not be available for their services. In such case, you won't be able to send an SMS.
2. Know the format required by your network in sending an SMS to an international phone number. The general format often used by popular telecoms like AT&T and T-Mobile requires the use of a '+' sign, followed by the SMS recipient's country code, area code or network code (instead of the area code of the state or city, the telecom company of the recipient's mobile phone uses its own network code), then the mobile phone number. For Sprint, you must first dial the international exit code '011' instead of the '+' sign before keying in the country code, area code or network code, then the mobile phone number.
3. Verify the mobile phone number of your SMS recipient. Since in some countries, people may call mobile phones locally without using the country code, among other possible differences in formats for international calls, you have to figure out the correct format on your own, in accordance to the instructions provided by your network. The easiest way to get the correct format is by first confirming the country code, which is easily accessible through online sources and even your own network's website, then the area code or network code (sometimes called the network provider prefix), which you can also find online or by asking the mobile phone network of your recipient. It is always best to ask your international SMS recipient to provide you with the complete mobile phone number with the country code, area code or network code and mobile phone number.
4. Type your message, then key in your mobile phone recipient's number, according to the required format for sending an international SMS. Note that there are networks and mobile phone handsets that limit the number of characters sent to 160. Anything beyond this may be allowed, but it will mean twice the cost of a typical international SMS.
5. Press the 'Send' key and wait for the 'Message Sent' prompt that confirms the sending of the SMS.

How to Send and Receive an Online Fax for Free
1. Register with a fax service provider if required. Some companies offer a number of free faxes daily or monthly while others provide free faxes during a trial period only. Popular fax service providers include Faxzero, Faxaway, Myfax and eFax.
2. Obtain a fax number. In most cases, your fax number will not be a local number. For instance, you may receive a Maryland number even though you live in New York. You may receive the number via email after you register. This will depend on the company.
3. Download and install any necessary programs. Some fax service companies provide software that you will use to send, receive and view faxes. Others provide forms on their websites on which you can enter the information you wish to fax as well as the recipient's fax number.
4. Send a fax. Enter the information you are sending, as well as your name, email address, the receiver's name and fax number. Follow the onscreen directions to send the fax. The process will vary depending on the fax service company.
5. Receive a fax. The fax service provider will send incoming faxes to your email address and you can retrieve it at your convenience. Use the fax software to open the file if the service company has provided one.
How to Transfer Cricket Phone Service to Another Phone
1. Upgrade your phone through Cricket if you don't already have a new one in mind. Point your browser to the Cricket Account Web page then log in using your Cricket phone number and password. Click the 'Upgrade' button within 'MyCricket' and shop phones until you find one that meets your requirements.
2. Flash the phone to which you wish to transfer Cricket service if you purchased it through another carrier. Cricket uses the Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) network and handsets, which means that programming -- not the use of a SIM card -- dictates a given phone's network affiliation. Bring your phone to your nearest Cricket store, whose associates can either flash your phone while you wait, or direct you to a nearby, authorized agent who can do the same. If you don't flash your non-Cricket phone to Cricket's network, you can't use it with Cricket.
3. Activate your new phone to transfer existing Cricket service. Click the first link listed under 'Resources,' then 'Activate Now.' Click 'Activate Now' again, then enter your phone's serial number, located on the inward-facing surface of its battery. Click 'Next,' then enter your Cricket account credentials, log in and select the option to activate this phone to your existing account. Click 'Activate.'

How to Create Ringtones for Verizon's LG V Cast Phone for Free
Using a Ringtone Service
1. Visit an online ringtone service that allows you to create custom ringtones, such as Myxer, ToneBee, Phonezoo or Brinked. Many ringtone services allow users to create ringtones for free. Depending upon the service you choose, you may be required to register for a free account before downloading or creating a ringtone.
2. Click on the 'Create Ringtone' or 'Make your Own' option to create a ringtone from a music file on your computer. Depending upon the ringtone service you choose, the custom ringtone option will differ.
3. Upload the music file you want to use as your ringtone. Many ringtone services allow you to upload a variety of popular music formats, including MP3, WAV and WMA. You can upload a song by clicking on the 'Browse' button, choosing a music file on your computer and clicking 'Open.' After uploading your file, the ringtone project screen will open.
4. Select a clip from the song you uploaded by clicking and dragging the highlighted box. Most ringtone services allow you to select a 20- to 30-second song clip. You can preview your clip selection by clicking 'Play.' Experiment with different sections of the song until you're satisfied with your selection.
5. Apply effects, such as 'Fade In' and 'Fade Out' to your clip. Ringtones are often looped when you receive an incoming call. Adding fading effects will provide a smooth transition for the looping process.
6. Click 'Continue' and enter your 10-digit cell phone number. After entering your phone number, click 'Send.' The ringtone will be sent to your phone in the form of a multimedia message. After opening the message, select the 'Save' option and save the song clip as a ringtone.
Using an Audio Editor
7. Download and install an audio editing program, such as Audacity or Adobe Soundbooth, onto your computer.
8. Click on the 'File' tab and select 'Open.' Locate the song you want to use as your ringtone and click 'Open.' The song will be imported into the program, and the track will appear in the editing screen.
9. Select a small clip of the song and make sure the clip is less than 30 seconds. If the clip is more than 30 seconds, you may have trouble saving it as a ringtone on your cell phone. After selecting your favorite song clip, use the 'Trim' feature to remove the remaining audio in the song. Your clip selection will remain on the screen.
10. Click on the 'Effects' tab and add the 'Fade In' and 'Fade Out' effects, which will create a fluid transition when your ringtone loops on your cell phone.
11. Click on the 'File' tab and select the 'Export' option. Name your new ringtone file and save it as an MP3. Depending upon your cell phone model, you can upload the new ringtone to your phone by using a USB cable or send the file to your phone in an email.
