How to Print Text Messages Off of Your Galaxy S III

Software Option
1. Download BackupTrans Software’s “Android SMS + MMS Transfer” software (see Resources). This software extracts SMS and MMS messages from any Android device and stores them for backup on your PC. With the free software, you can view and transfer a limited number of text messages; with the licensed version ($29 as of August 2013), you can transfer unlimited texts on up to three devices.
2. Connect your Galaxy S3 to your computer using the provided miniUSB cable, wait for your computer to recognize the device and then launch Android SMS + MMS Transfer. The software will scan your drive and create a list of items that it can sync to your computer; the first time you connect the Galaxy, this process may take a few minutes.
3. Click on “Galaxy S3” under the list of devices in the left-hand panel of the software. Select the messages you want to print from the list, click “File” and choose “Print SMS and MMS.” Select your printer and confirm the print settings (using the visual print preview) and then click “Print.”
App Option
4. Press the “Home” button on the Galaxy S3 and swipe your phone to unlock it. Tap the “Google Play” icon to open the application market. You need to be connected to the Internet to download apps, so make sure your phone has either a 4G or Wi-Fi connection. Search for “PrinterShare Mobile Print.” Tap “Install” to download and install the software.
5. Connect your phone to Wi-Fi, if it isn't already, and ensure that your printer is turned on. Both the printer and the phone need to be on the same wireless network in order for PrinterShare Mobile Print to work properly. Tap the app to open it and wait while it searches the network for the printer.
6. Tap “Messages” to open your SMS and MMS messages in PrinterShare. Select a conversation that you wish to print and then choose your printer from the list or tap “Nearby – WiFi” to select the closest wireless printer available. Additionally, you can print to a Bluetooth or USB printer using the Samsung miniUSB to connect to the printer. With the free version of the software, you can print up to 20 pages. After that, you need to buy PrinterShare Premium Key for $13 through Google Play.
Manual Method
7. Tap 'Messages' on your phone to view the text messages and then click on a conversation with messages you want to print. Tap and hold on any of the speech bubbles and then tap 'Copy message text.'
8. Press the 'Home' button to return to your Home screen and then tap 'Email' to open the email app. Compose a new message to yourself and then tap and hold in the body of the message and press 'Paste.' Repeat these two steps until all of the messages you want to print are in the email body. Tap 'Send.'
9. Open the email on any computer connected to a printer and then click 'File,' and choose 'Print' in your Web browser. The formatting of the text messages may not be perfect from the copying-and-pasting, so you may wish to copy these texts into a word processor before printing.

How Do I Send a Text Message to a Cell Phone Without Having a Cell Phone?

Using a Texting Website
1. Go to a text-messaging website such as Onlinetextmessage.com, Txt2day.com or Textforfree.net.
2. Enter the mobile number of the intended recipient of your text message, the wireless carrier for that cellphone, your email address, the message you want to send and any other information requested by the website. Click 'Send' or the equivalent button.
3. Review any special offers or other information displayed on the page that appears after the text message has been sent. The website might ask you to try a subscription to its services. You don't have to sign up if the website offers free texting. Your message should have already gone through if you clicked 'Send' in the preceding step.
Using Skype
4. Install Skype on your computer if you do not have it. Go to Skype.com, roll your cursor over the 'Get Skype' tab, select your operating system and click 'Download Skype.' Follow the installation instructions.
5. Add contacts you would like to text message. When you first open Skype, the program will ask if you want to add contacts from your email addresses or social networking service, so you can do that if you wish. You can also search for contacts on Skype or create new ones. Make sure that the contacts you would like to text have cellphone numbers in their profiles. To do this, click on the contact, select the 'Mobile' tab, click 'Add a phone number' and enter the 10-digit number.
6. Add credit to your Skype account. Skype will deduct a few cents from your balance every time you send a text. You can 'Buy Skype Credit now' on your Skype home screen; simply have a contact highlighted and click on the 'Mobile' tab. The link will be at the bottom of the screen. You can also add credit to your account by clicking 'Add credit.' Follow the prompts and enter the appropriate information to add credit.
7. Write a text by highlighting a contact on your Skype home screen, selecting the 'Mobile' tab and writing your message in the box at the bottom of the screen. Click on the bubble to the right of the text box to send your message.

How to Get Free Phone Service

1. Many voip providers allow free computer to computer calls. We are going to link such a service to a free phone number so that we aren't limited to only pc to pc calls, but have a real phone number to receive calls for free. To do this, we must first sign up with a free basic voip provider. Here are a few:
Voxalot
Gizmo
Free World Dialup (no longer free as of 08/08)
2. Next, we must get our free phone number and route it to our voip service. Here are two examples of providers who offer this service, sign up for one of them:
ipkall.com
freedigits.com
During sign up, you will need to provide a sip number and sip proxy.
To route the phone number to our voip service, use your member id that you received in step 1, as your sip number. The sip proxy is provided also provided to you during step 1, enter it in the sip proxy field.
Here are the sip proxies for some common voip providers:
Voxalot - us.voxalot.com
FWD - fwd.pulver.com
Gizmo - proxy01.sipphone.com
3. Now that we have a free phone number and a free voip service, we have to configure our softphone or analog telephone adapter to register with our voip provider. A softphone is software that allows us to make calls on our pc, X-lite is one example and it is free. An analog telephone adapter is a hardware version of the same thing.
Go to the configuration menu of your softphone or ata and enter the same sip proxy you used in step 2, in your softphone sip proxy field. Enter your user name and password. For additional help configuring your sip device, see the resources section below.
4. After step 3 your softphone or ata will be registered with your voip provider, which is in turn registered with your free phone number. When someone calls you it is routed like this:
Ipkall -> forwards the call to your free voip provider -> sends the call to the device (softphone or ata) configured to receive it.
You can now receive totally free phone calls!
