How to Send a Song Through Text Messaging


Text 4 Free
1. Visit the Text 4 Free website. Type the cell phone number of the recipient and click their cell phone carrier in the provided drop-down box.
2. Type a text message in the provided box.
3. Specify how many free message you will send with this service.
4. Select 'Choose File' and browse your files for the song you plan to send. Click the song and the 'Open' button.
5. Type the validation code and select 'Send Messages.'
MP3 Tunes
6. Visit the MP3 Tunes website. Locate and select the 'Create Free Locker' button. Type a login name and password. Refer to the left task pane and pick one of their account types. Select the 'Submit' button. The account is immediately created.
7. Add songs to your account by selecting the 'Load Music And Video' link. Click 'Run' at the security warning. Select 'Find Music Myself' at the next dialog box.
8. Click the 'Home' tab and select the 'Add Song/Video' green button. Select 'Choose File.' Browse your files and locate the song that you want to send. Click the song and select the 'Open' button. Click 'Continue.' When prompted, enter details about this uploaded song such as the title, year and artist. Click 'Save.' The song appears in your song locker.
9. Click the 'Player' upper link to advance to your song locker. Right click the newly added song and select 'Send To Mobile.' Enter the cell phone number that will receive the song. Click 'Send.'
Outlook 2010
10. Open Microsoft Outlook and click the 'Inbox' in the Navigation Pane. In the 'To' field, type the cell phone number in its carrier standardized email format. For example, if you want send a message to someone using Verizon, format the number in this format: '1234567890@vtext.com
11. Add your message in the body of the Outlook message. Attach the song by clicking the 'Home' tab and the 'Attach' button. Search your files and locate the song. Click the song and select 'Open.'
12. Send the message by clicking the 'Send' button.

How to Use Facebook Text Messages


1. Log into your Facebook account on your computer to activate Facebook Mobile. Click the 'Account' menu in the upper-right corner of the page and select 'Account Settings' from the drop-down menu. Click the 'Mobile' tab in the left column. Click 'Add a Phone.' You'll be prompted to enter your Facebook password before proceeding.
2. Select your country and your mobile carrier from the drop-down menus. Add your phone number where indicated. Facebook sends a text message to your phone with an activation code. Enter the code in the box provided to complete the signup process.
3. Check the box next to 'Activate Facebook Text Messages' and click 'Submit.' Update your status from your cellphone by texting your update to 32665 (FBOOK). The status update appears on your profile exactly as you type it on the phone.
4. Return to 'Account Settings.' Select 'Notifications' from the left side of the page. Select 'Facebook' next to 'All Notifications' to expand the menu. Place a check mark under the 'Text notifications' icon (a mobile phone) for each category of message or contact you want forwarded to your cellphone. Click 'Save Changes' when finished. Repeat with any of the other categories that you wish to have forwarded to your phone.

How to Send an SMS From the PSP


1. Turn on your PSP.
2. Press the 'Home' button to the lower left of the screen to get to the main menu. If you already are connected to the Internet, skip to Step 7.
3. Open 'Settings' and then 'Network Settings.' Select 'Infrastructure Mode.' Choose 'New Connection.' Enter a name for the connection.
4. Select 'Scan' and wait for your PSP to find a network. Select the one you want and press 'X.'
5. Select the security setting you want, and then select 'Easy' on the Address Settings page. Continue after you get to the confirmation page, and press 'X' to save the settings.
6. Select 'Test Connection' to see if you have successfully established a connection to the Internet. If the test fails, try moving closer to the Wi-Fi access point and retrying the test. Otherwise, you may have to find a different connection.
7. If it works, press the 'Home' button again and then use the directional pad to go to the 'Internet Browser' icon.
8. Visit the Free SMS Messages site (see Resources) for a listing of addresses to send text messages to, depending on the carrier. For example, if the person you want to send the SMS message to is on Verizon, you need to send the message to 5551029320@vtext.com, and 5551029320@txt.att.net if the person uses AT&T. Replace 5551029320 in the address with the person's number.
9. Visit your email provider's home page and login. Compose a new message, and put the address you determined in the previous step in the 'To' box, and then press 'Send.' This should send a message directly to the person's phone.
10. Visit the txtDrop website (see Resources) if you want another way to do it. Enter your email address in the box provided, the recipient's phone number and your text message, and then press 'Send.'

How to Send an SMS Through a GPRS Modem


1. Go to SendSMSNow and select the destination country, mobile service provider and the mobile number of the receiver. Type in your name in the 'From' field, and type in a message of up to 120 characters. Enter the validation code and hit the 'Send Message' button.
2. Use SMSflick.com.  Select the recipient's country of residence. Enter the phone number, then type in your alias or name in the 'Sender name' field.  If you want to remain anonymous, leave this field blank. Type in the body of your message; which should only be no more than 100-characters long. Finally, do the captcha test and click the 'Send' button. As of 2010, it is free to send text messages of up to 100 characters, but if you would like to send larger messages (of up to 300 characters), you can opt to pay $4.99 per month.
3. Go to SeaSMS. Click the SMS/MMS button near the animated tool bar on the right. Select either 'India' or the 'Rest of the World' under 'Select Destination.' A list of mobile operators will then become available under the 'Select Operator' drop-down menu. Choose the one that the recipient of the message uses. Enter your name or your alias, and then type in the body of your message, up to 160 characters. Hit the 'Send' button.

1. Press the 'Menu' key on your phone.
2. Go to 'Contacts'/'Phonebook.'
3. Highlight the contact whose V-Card you want to pass on to somebody else.
4. Press the 'Options'/'More' key.
5. Choose 'Send Contact' > 'As Text Message'/'SMS.'
6. Enter name of the recipient to whom you want to send the card.
7. Press 'Send.'

1. Consider the options available for receiving SMS texts online to find that which suits you best. Those on a budget can look to Gmail chat, txtDrop or SMS Everywhere for free and simple texting services.
2. Sign into your Gmail account or make one for free (see Resources), then go to Gmail Settings and select the Labs link to activate beta texting. The Gmail texting service uses the chat window in the site's interface to send and receive messages directly.
3. Visit the txtDrop website (see Resources) to send a text directly from the front page. The text will send to your friend quickly, and your friend's reply can be sent directly to an email account by specifying your email address in the field provided.
4. Access the SMS Everywhere website (see Resources) for free, individual texting. The site also offers bulk texting, scheduled messages and user development, so users can develop their own messaging software. Additionally, users can download 'widgets,' or transportable HTML programs, to send messages from blogs and sidebars without visiting the site.

How to Send Free SMS to Tortola

1. Open the txtDrop Web page and enter your name or mobile number in the 'From' field.
2. Enter the recipient's mobile phone number in the 'To' field.
3. Enter your message. txtDrop does not have a character limit for text messages.
