How to Transfer an SMS From Windows Mobile

1. Download and install Microsoft's ActiveSync software utility (see Resources for the link). This program allows a computer to recognize and sync with a phone after being connected by a USB cable.
2. Download a mobile sync/transfer software utility compatible with phones running Windows Mobile. See Resources for links to such software, which come with a fee; GodswMobile SMS Transfer offers a 20-message free trial. Unzip the file to a location on the computer that can be easily accessed.

4. Open the ActiveSync utility. In the window that displays the computer's disk contents, browse to the location of the unzipped transfer utility from Step 2.

6. Access the 'Start' menu from the Windows Mobile home screen. Select 'Programs.'
7. Click the icon or name of the transfer utility you installed. An interface will run on the phone's screen.
8. Click 'Backup SMS' or 'Transfer SMS,' depending on the utility you are using. A prompt will ask how you would like your messages saved (as an SMS transfer file or as a text file). Choose the location on the computer where they will be saved.
9. Click 'Save' or 'Transfer,' depending on the utility you are using. The transfer and backup process will begin.
10. Access the SMS log on the computer by opening the location where the messages were saved.
