How to Send a Text from a Computer to a Mobile
1. To send text message via email, log in to your email account. Click the link to compose a new message. In the 'To' field, enter the email address associated with the recipient's phone number, aka the 'email to SMS-gateway' (for example, 1112345566@vzw.net). In the body of the email, type your message. Click 'Send' when finished.
2. To send text message via your cell phone carrier's website, go to your wireless carrier's website. Click the link that appears on the home page, or possibly once you have logged into your account home page, that will allow you to send text messages. (The text of this link will vary from carrier to carrier.)
3. To send text message via website, navigate to a site that allows you to send text messages from computer to cell phone. (See Resources for links to a couple of sites that allow you to send text messages for free). These sites will usually ask that you enter the recipient's phone number and a brief message, and then simply click 'Send.'

How to Activate a Cricket Phone
1. Charge your Cricket phone overnight by attaching the phone charger to your phone and plugging it into a nearby wall socket. The phone must be charged before you can activate it.
2. Call Cricket at (800) 274-2538 and choose the option for activating a new phone. You will have to use a different cell phone or a land line since your Cricket phone is not yet activated. Be prepared to give your Social Security number to the Cricket representative to activate your phone. If you prefer not to use a Social Security number, you may use your driver's license number instead.
3. Write down the information the Cricket representative will give you. She will give you a Cricket mobile directory number (MDN), which is your new cell phone number. You will also receive a 10-digit Cricket mobile identification number (MIN) and a 5-digit CDMA system ID number.
4. Turn on your new cell phone by pressing the red 'Power' button. Type *228 into the keypad and press 'Send.' A recorded message will come on your Cricket phone and you will be prompted to the enter the three numbers you wrote down in Step 3.
5. Complete the voice prompts and hang up the phone. Your Cricket phone is now activated and you can begin using it.
How to Sign Up for Mobile Tweets
Third-party Applications
1. Go to the application store or marketplace on your phone and select a Twitter application. A few common, free applications are Twitter's mobile application, TweetDeck, Peep and Seesmic.
2. Download the phone application.
3. Open the application and log in using your Twitter username and password. The application immediately receives tweets from your friends and allows you to send mobile tweets.
Twitter SMS
4. Visit Twitter's website and find your country's Twitter short code. The code is 40404 in the United States.
5. Send a text to the Twitter short code with the message 'Start.' Twitter sends a text message back to you; reply with 'Signup.' This creates a new account.
6. Select a username. It must be unique and contain 15 characters or less. Reply to Twitter with that username. Twitter sends confirmation once the username is accepted.
7. Choose a password. Your account is set up and you can begin sending mobile tweets via SMS.
8. Send a tweet by texting the message to your short code.
How to Send a Free SMS to Ireland
1. Go to a site that allows free texting to other countries or specifically to Ireland (See References).
2. Enter your text message and the cellphone number of the person you want to send the SMS to. Depending on the site, you may or may not have to enter the country code required for international calls. Read the directions on the site to figure out whether you need this number. If you need it, the code for Ireland is +353.
3. Enter the capcha code to verify that you are a person and not a computerized system trying to send out spam messages to people in Ireland. Some sites may not have a capcha code requirement.
4. Click the 'Send' or other similar button on the site to send your free SMS to your friend in Ireland.
How to Set Up Bluetooth Hands
1. Plug in your Bluetooth hands-free device in order to charge the device. Leave the unit plugged in for roughly an hour so that it fully charges.
2. Unplug the Bluetooth hands-free device.
3. Press and hold the button found in the middle of the Bluetooth hands-free device. Do this until the light found on the middle of the Bluetooth stays on.
4. Turn on your cell phone. Navigate to the Main Menu screen.
5. Scroll to either 'Settings' or 'Settings & Tools.' Whichever you choose will depend on your particular cell phone.
6. Search for a 'Connectivity' option. If you find this option, highlight it and then press 'OK.' Otherwise, skip to the next step.
7. Choose 'Bluetooth' or 'Bluetooth Menu.' Press 'OK' to go to the next screen.
8. Select 'Add New Device' and press 'OK.' As you do this, place the Bluetooth hands-free device next to your cell phone. The phone will then search for the Bluetooth. When the Bluetooth is found, the name of the device will appear on the cell phone screen.
9. Scroll down to the listed Bluetooth device and press 'OK.' You will be asked to type in a code. Enter '0000' (four consecutive zeros) and press 'OK.' Your Bluetooth hands-free device will then be paired with the cell phone and you will be able to use the device.
How to Get A Free Cellphone Plan From The Government
1. Visit one of the general Lifeline websites, Lifeline.gov or LifelineSupport.org. View the eligibility requirements for your state and read state-specific information about the program. Choose cellphone information specifically; Lifeline also subsidizes land line phones.
2. Visit one of the cellphone-specific program sites, SafeLinkWireless.com or AssuranceWireless.com, to confirm your state's coverage in one of these programs.
3. Click on 'Enroll,' 'Apply' or a similar link to apply. You will be required to prove eligibility to receive a free cellphone.

A List of Bluetooth Phones for the Jaguar Hands
AT&T Phones
The Apple iPhone, Motorola RAZR V3 and Nokia 6102i are fully compatible with the Jaguar via AT&T Wireless.Four other phones are compatible, but with limited functionality: BlackBerry 8100 Pearl (call history does not sync), BlackBerry 8300 Curve (call history does not sync), BlackBerry 8800 (call history does not sync) and LG CU500 (phone book and call history do not sync).
Verizon Phones
Several Verizon Wireless phones offer full compatibility, including the LG VX 8300, 8500, 8550 models; Motorola Q; Motorola KRZR K1M; and Motorola RAZR V3M.A handful of other phones offer limited functionality: BlackBerry 8703e (call history does not display), Motorola Q9M (called ID does not display on the Jaguar screen) and Nokia 6315i (phone book and call history do not sync).
Sprint Phones
Sprint offers several phones with full compatibility to the Jaguar, including the HTC Mogul, Samsung A900M, LG LX570 Musiq, Samsung IP-830W and HTC Hero.The LG LX550 Fusic works, but the phone book and call history do not sync.
T-Mobile Phones
Many T-Mobile phones are fully compatible with the Jaguar, including the T-Mobile DASH, Motorola KRZR K1, Motorola RAZR V3i, Motorola RIZR Z3, Nokia 5300 and Nokia 6103.The Samsung SGH-D900 is functional, but the call history does not sync.
Check With the Dealer
Jaguar is regularly updating the list of compatible phones that can be used with its hands-free system. If you are unsure as to whether your phone will work or not, you may wish to check with the dealer. Alternatively, you can use the opportunity to upgrade to a new compatible phone that will fully extend the features Jaguar has built in.
