What Is the Best Free Way to Look Up Cell Phone Numbers Online?
Free Look-up Sites
There are a number of websites where you can look up information for free based on a cell phone number or a person's name and location. Unfortunately, these sites give you very little information for free. The most popular sites will give you the location that the area code of the number indicates if you look up a phone number. If you look up a person's name, it will give you information on where that person has had registered cell phone numbers and who their relatives are, but access to any other information requires fee. However, what is available for free can be very helpful in obtaining more details for free.
Filling in the Details for Free
If you are determined to get more information without paying for it or without leaving a record that you requested it, there are some searching tactics you can use to try to fill in the gaps. The process involves a series of increasingly narrowed and specialized Web searches. By using the information obtainable through the free look-up, like where the number originated, the person's location or their relatives, you can use clever search tactics to piece the puzzle together. If you are looking up a number, the first thing to do is simply search for the number online and see what you get. You may find that someone has listed the number under his or her name on a personal or professional website or perhaps when answering an online ad. If your search returns results for similar numbers but not the exact one you are looking for, refine the search by adding quotation marks around the number. You can also try searching the number with various combinations of dashes, parentheses, spaces and periods in case it was listed in a certain style. If you still do not have the information you are looking for, take the search to other search engines. A good place to try is social networking sites' built-in search engines. The search tactics remain basically the same if you are searching for a phone number for a particular name. You may try different types of queries, for instance 'John Doe, phone number' or 'Jane Doe, contact.' The idea is the same: You are trying to get specific information on a website by systematically refining your search criteria. Based on the information you obtained from the free look-up, you can refine your search by location and the person's listed relatives. When searching by someone's name, social networking sites are especially fruitful.

How to Send a Text to an Irish Number
1. Write out your text on your phone. Do this exactly the same way you would if you were texting an American number; there is no need to alter the way you write the text itself.
2. Navigate your way to the field that asks you for the number to which you want to send the text. On many phones, you merely need to press 'Send' after writing the text to open this address field.
3. Enter the numbers '011' into this phone number field. This is the United States' exit code, which you must dial before any international calls or texts can be made---except to Canadian numbers, which you can treat exactly the same way as American numbers.
4. Enter the numbers '353' into this field, which should now read '011353.' 353 is Ireland's country code and will direct your call to the correct country.
5. Enter the phone number into your phone. If the phone number you have starts with a '0,' omit this and begin with the next digit. For instance, if the phone number which you want to text is '086 234 5678,' you would simply enter '862345678' without the first '0.' Your number should now read, '011353862345678.'
6. Press the 'Send' or similar button on your phone to send the text.
How to Read SMS Text Messages
1. Find the SMS text application on your cell phone, iPhone or other device you are using to receive SMS text messages and open it.
2. Open the message you wish to read then read the message from left to right just as you would read anything else.
3. Translate the SMS text components into English, including the common components which follow. '2' generally translates to 'to' as its own word or a part of a word as in tomorrow or tonight. The letter 'R' can be translated into 'our' or 'are.' Various symbol and punctuation characters can be combined with letters to depict a variety of emotions including happiness [:o)] or sadness (;~[) Many SMS text abbreviations are really acronyms such as LOL (laughing out loud), BRB (be right back), JK (just kidding), SYL (see you later), OMG (oh my God) or TYVM (thank you very much). Other abbreviations use an 'X' to stand for part of a word as in WX (weather) or TXS (thanks) or they use a few letters from a word to convey its meaning as in XLNT (excellent). Finally, some abbreviations are designed to express curse words, such as WTF (What the f***).
4. Determine the meaning of any new text abbreviations or acronyms by looking at the confusing portion in the context of the rest of the text message. Many times you can decipher the meanings intuitively based on the context of the message.
