1. Navigate to your email inbox.
2. Click 'Compose.'
3. Enter the cell phone email address for each of the contacts you wish to send a text message in the 'To' field. Navigate to the Overseer Network Monitoring website (see Resources) to determine the address for your contacts.
4. Enter a message in the body of the email. Limit the number of words in the text message. A standard SMS is 160 characters.
5. Click 'Send.'
How to Send a Text Message From Yahoo Mail
1. Open a browser window and navigate to your Yahoo! Mail account. Log in with your ID and password.
2. Click 'New' and select 'Email Message' from the drop-down menu.
3. Enter the recipient's mobile phone number followed by '@' and the SMS gateway in the 'To' field. The SMS gateway works in the same manner as the domain in an email address. An example email address for a Boost Mobile cell phone customer is 1234567890@myboostmobile.com.
4. Type the text for the message in the body of the email. Messages longer than 160 characters may be received in several messages or truncated.
5. Click 'Send' and your text message will be sent to the recipient's cellphone.
How to Send an SMS Telecom From Hotmail
1. Open your Internet browser and log in to your Hotmail email account.
2. Start a new message.
3. Enter the gateway address for the cell phone you're sending the message to. Instead of entering another email address in the 'Send To' field, you will enter the user's phone number followed by their gateway address. For example, to send a message to a Boost Mobile cell phone, you would send your email to (10-digit phone number)@myboostmobile.com. You can consult your user's manual to find your gateway address. There is a list of all major gateway addresses in the link in the References section.
4. Send the message. Your email will now be sent to the cell phone as an SMS message.
How to Unlock a Samsung Rugby Phone
1. Obtain your phone's IMEI number by pressing *#06# on your Samsung Rugby phone.
2. Call your Samsung phone's service provider and ask for technical support. Provide the representative with your IMEI number. The representative should furnish you with a Subsidy Unlock Code.
3. Access the Rugby phone's SIM card by removing the battery cover and the battery. Remove the SIM card then replace the battery and cover.
4. Power on the Rugby phone.
5. Type in the Subsidy Unlock Code. You should see a message saying 'Network Lock Deactivated.' Your phone may automatically reboot.
6. Put the SIM card back in your phone.
How to Unlock Sprint Phones for Free
1. Call the Sprint Customer Service line at 888-211-5727. Ask a representative for the software unlock code for your phone. The rep will release the unlock code to you if you qualify. For example, you must be an account holder in good standing for a three-month period.
2. Navigate to the 'Settings' folder on the phone. On many phones, select 'Menu,' then scroll through the list of folders and select 'Settings.'
3. Select 'Advanced Options' or 'Options,' then 'SIM CARD' or 'SIM.' Type 'MPED' on the screen, then type 'MEP' while holding the 'Alt' key and press '2.'
4. Enter the unlock code when prompted. Most Sprint phones follow this or a similar procedure to enter an unlock code. Either refer to the user's manual or call the Sprint support line for the exact method.

How to Send Text Messages Via Hotmail Email
1. Sign in to your Windows Live Hotmail account by typing your email address and password in the 'Windows Live ID' and 'Password' boxes, respectively and then selecting 'Sign In.'
2. Click on the 'New' link located to the right of 'Hotmail.' The Compose window opens.
3. Type your text message in the blank area and then enter your recipient's carrier's SMS gateway in the 'To' field. Enter 10-digitphonenumber@vtext.com (for example, 1234567898@vtext.com) if your recipient uses Verizon Wireless, 10-digit phone number@tmomail.net if he/she uses T-Mobile, or 10-digit phone number@txt.att.net if your contact uses AT&T.
4. Send the email as a text message by clicking the 'Send' link. You have sent a text message via your account successfully.
How to Send Free SMS Messages With More Than 150 Characters
1. Access the Web via the Internet provider on your computer or your cell phone.
2. Navigate to an SMS website that offers to send free text messages of 150 characters or more. Text4freeonline.com, For-ever.us and Textem.net are examples of websites that let you send a free SMS message of at least 150 characters. See the Resource section of this article for links.
3. Enter the recipient's cell phone number, provider and text message into the provided form on the website. You can also enter your email address if you would like a reply to your text message.
4. Verify that the information was entered correctly and press 'Send' when complete. Your text message will arrive shortly on the recipient's cell phone.
