How to Send SMS Calendar Reminders to Invitees Through Google Calendar
Set Notifications
1. Log in to your Google Calendar.
2. Choose the calendar you want to enable notifications for and click 'settings.'
3. Click 'Mobile Setup' near the top of the page under 'Calendar Settings.'
4. Fill out the information on the next page. You will choose your country, enter your phone number and service provider. Google will send you a verification code on your phone to enter as well.
5. Click 'Finish Setup' when all fields have been filled in.
6. Fill in notification desires on the next screen. You can choose to be notified by email, SMS or both and set a time for how far in advance you want to receive a reminder. Click 'Save' to keep your preferences. You are now set up for SMS notifications.

7. Create an event. You can send out reminders only for an event you created.
8. Fill in your event details as desired. About halfway down the page is a section where you can fill in information on how to send out reminders.
9. Choose 'SMS' from the first drop down box. Input a number into the second box.
10. Choose whether you want the reminder sent out a certain number of minutes, hours, days or weeks in advance. You can add additional reminders if you need to send out more than one.
11. Click 'Save.' Any attendees to the event, including yourself, will now get a SMS reminder at the time you set.

1. Turn on your cellular device and navigate to the Inbox or Messaging screen by touching the screen or pressing the OK button at the menu screen.
2. Press the Create a New Message option by clicking the OK button or touching the option on screen. Type in a message of up to 140 characters.
3. Type in the 10-digit landline number that you want to send a text to on your Send Message screen, and then press the OK or Send button.

Sending SMS With a Cell Phone
1. Open up your cell phone and go to 'Messaging.'
2. Create a new message.
3. Enter the phone number you want to send the message to in the 'Send To' field. Some phones may have you do this after you have already composed the message. You can send a message to more than one person at the same time. All you have to do is add another number in the 'Send To' field. If you don't know the person's phone number, you will be able to select a recipient from your list of contacts.
4. Write your message and then click send. The recipient will receive your SMS message shortly.

5. Open your Internet browser and log in to your email account.
6. Compose a new message.
7. Enter the user's phone number followed by their gateway address in the 'Send To' field. For example, to send a message to an AT&T cell phone, send your email to (10-digit phone number)@txt.att.net. You can consult your user's manual to find your gateway address. There is also a list of all major gateway addresses at http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/email-to-sms/ .
8. Send the message. Your email will now be sent to the cell phone in the form of an SMS message.
How to Send Music Messages for Free
1. Transfer the music file you would like to send in a message to an Internet-enabled computer. This can be done with a data USB cable or memory card made for your phone. Check the manufacturer's booklet for instructions on your specific phone model.
2. Navigate to the Verizon Wireless website.
3. Locate the log in area under the Manage Account section. Type your user-name and password into the boxes and click the 'Sign In' button. Click the 'Register' link to create a user-name and password if you have never visited the site.
4. Hover the mouse pointer over the Messaging button at the top of the page to expand a menu. Click on the 'Send Picture & Video Message' option.
5. Scroll down the page and locate the red 'Upload Media' button on the left. This will bring up a dialog box. Click the 'Browse' button to open another box. Browse on your computer to find the music file you want to send and click the 'Open' button. Click on the 'Upload' button to add the music file to your online media.
6. Locate the uploaded music file under the Uploads section on the left side of the page. Highlight the music file. Drag and drop the file on the screen of the red phone. The red phone shows how your message will look.
7. Click in the text box on the red phone and add any text to the music message.
8. Click the red 'Preview and Send' button below the red phone. This will bring up a dialog box. Type in the recipient's cell phone number in the Send To box.
9. Click the red 'Send' button to send the message. The recipient will receive the message on his phone and be able to play the music you've sent.

How to Send SMS From Skype
1. Open Skype. Sign into the account from which you wish to send a text message. This account should be one that already has your contact's cellphone number listed within your Skype contacts.
2. Click your contact where he is listed in Skype's left panel. This shows your recent history with this contact in the right portion of Skype's screen.
3. Type the message you wish to send as a text via Skype into the 'Type a message to (your contact) here' field at the bottom of the right side of Skype's screen.
4. Select 'Mobile' from the 'To:' list just above this field if you have more than one number listed for this contact.
5. Click the 'Send SMS' button to send your message to the contact you selected.

1. Launch Ventone.com, Myxer.com or Phonezoo.com from your computer (see the Reference section for links). Click the tab 'Ringtones' and browse the music genre to find a song that is available for download.
2. Click on the song title that you want to download onto your phone. Click the link 'Send to Phone.' Create an account, if prompted to do so. If not, enter your mobile phone number in the appropriate field.
3. Select the portion of the song that you want to play as a ringtone on your phone by sliding the song markers to the appropriate places.
4. Click the option to preview your ringtone to make sure it is satisfactory, and then click the link 'Send to phone.' Wait for the ringtone download link to arrive to your phone via text message.
