How to Use Google SMS


1. Confirm that Google SMS will work with your mobile provider and that you have a text message plan. Google SMS works with most of the major nationwide providers, but only if you can send and receive texts. If you have service through a smaller, local company, you should contact your provider to be sure that SMS is supported.
2. Send your queries to code 466453. If you look at the numbers closely, you'll notice they spell the word 'Google.' Send the words 'Help Settings' as a message to see how you can personalize your Google SMS. It will provide you with a list of commands that can be used to set various defaults.
3. Set your location by typing 'Set Location [your zip code].' You can also see what the set location is or clear the saved location by sending 'View Location' or 'Clear Location.'
4. Use standard commands to get directions, view maps or see what movies are playing in your area. Simply type the keywords 'movies,' 'maps,' or 'directions' followed by your zip code or the address to which you wish to get directions and send it to Google SMS.
5. Check the weather by typing 'Weather' or 'w' and the name of the location for which you want the forecast.
6. Use Google SMS to check stocks, convert currency, translate words or make calculations. The keywords are 'Stock [stock symbol],' '[currency] in [currency]', 'translate [word] in [language]' and the standard calculation operators (+,-,*, / ).
7. Win bets and find answers to burning questions by performing a 'Q & A.' Simply type 'q&a' and then the information you want to learn. For example to know when Donald Trump was born, you'd type 'q&a donald trump birthday.'
8. Find other more obscure search terms on Google SMS' sample query sheet. It can be found on their website (see Resources).

How to Set up Google Voice


1. Go to the Google Voice homepage (see Resources).
2. Enter your email address and password and click the 'Sign In' button. Alternatively, if you do not have a Google account, click the 'Create an account' button and enter the requested information to open a free Google account.
3. Click the 'I want a new number' button to receive your new Google Voice phone number.
4. Enter your area code and click the 'Search Numbers' button.
5. Select your new Google Voice phone number from the list of available numbers. Click the 'Continue' button.
6. Enter and confirm the four-digit PIN code you want to use to access your Google Voice account. Click the box agreeing to Google Voice's terms of service and click the 'Continue' button.
7. Enter the forwarding phone number that you want to ring when someone calls your Google Voice number. Click the 'Continue' button.
8. Click the 'Call me now' button. Google Voice will initiate a call to the forwarding number you selected. Answer the phone and enter the security code displayed in Google Voice to confirm the ownership of the forwarded phone number. Click the 'Done' button. You have now completed the setup process for your new Google Voice account.

How to Send SMS Using MS Access


1. Click 'Start' and 'All Programs.' Select the Microsoft Office folder. Double-click on Microsoft Outlook.
2. Select 'New' at the top. In the 'To:' field, input the person's cell phone number and carrier. For example, if your friend is on AT&T and his number is 959-555-0100, his email address would be 29595550100@att.net.
3. Type a subject for your email in the 'Subject:' line. This is optional, but you can inform the person of a new project or an upcoming deadline. For example, type 'Deadline' or 'New Project Venture,' without the quotes.
4. Compose your message in the field below the subject. Ensure that your message is 160 characters or less. Keep your SMS brief and to the point.
5. Click 'Attach' to attach a file from Microsoft Access. Search in your computer's programs and files for Microsoft Access. Then select a file and click 'Insert.'
6. Proofread your message. Press the 'Send' button when satisfied.

How to Send a Free Audio SMS Online

1. Go to the website Text4Free.
2. Enter the recipient's cell phone number in the first field, and select his network provider from the drop-down list. If you don't know the recipient's carrier, select an option like 'Any USA Provider' or 'Any Belgium Provider.'
3. Type a text message in the second field, if you want to, or leave it blank.
4. Click the 'Choose File' button, and select the audio file from your computer that you want to attach with the SMS. You can attach a file in MID, MIDI, MP3, WAV, WMA, 3GPA or MP4 format. The maximum size of the file should be 5 megabytes.
5. Type the security code as you see it in the image, and click 'Send Message.'

6. Go to the website SeaSMS.
7. Select the recipient's network provider from the list, and enter the complete cell phone number in the 'To' field.
8. Enter your name in the 'From' field, or leave it blank.
9. Type your message in the message box, and click the 'Choose File' button on the left margin of the page.
10. Select the audio file from your computer. Make sure the file is smaller than 5 megabytes. Once the message is composed, click 'Send MMS.'

11. Go to the website SMSfree4all. When you open the website, select the recipient's country from the page. The countries are listed alphabetically on the page.
12. Enter the recipient's cell phone number in the first page, followed by the recipient's network carrier in the second field.
13. Enter your text message in the message box, and enter the verification code as you see it in the image on the page.
14. Click the 'Choose File' button, and attach the audio file from your computer. The site allows a maximum file size of 1 megabyte. When done, click 'Send It!'

How to Send Text From Computer to Mobile Device


Sending Through the Recipient's Carrier
1. Find out which cell phone provider the recipient of your text message uses. Any website you use to send your text message will require this information. You will also need to know the phone number of the recipient.
2. Visit the website of your friend's mobile phone carrier. Some carriers, such as Sprint Nextel and Verizon Wireless, allow you to send text messages to their users through their websites. Others, such as AT&T, don't. If the mobile phone carrier is Sprint or Nextel, scroll to the bottom of the site and click on either 'Send Text' or 'Send a Text Message.' You may be required to set up an account with the site. If so, follow the on-screen instructions on how to do that.
3. Enter the 10-digit cell phone number of the recipient in the 'Send To' box, enter your name in the 'From' box, and your cell phone number in the 'Callback Number' box. Enter your text message in the 'Your Message' box and then click 'Send.' Your text message should arrive on the recipient's phone in a matter of seconds.
Sending Through a Third-Party Website
4. Visit websites that allow you to send text messages to cell phones for free, such as OnlineTextMessage.com, SMSEverywhere.com or TextEm.net.
5. Enter the 10-digit phone number of the recipient in the 'Mobile Number' box, enter your email address (if required), and select the carrier of the recipient's cell phone.
6. Type your text message in the 'Message' box and then click 'Send Message.' Your text message should arrive on the recipient's phone in a matter of seconds.

How to Send Receive International SMS


1. Go to ipipi.com and click the 'Sign Up' button to register on the website. Ipipi allows you to make a free account and lets you send messages to any country for rates as low as 10 cents per text, as of 2010. You get to send and receive messages from the computer or your cell phone.Ipipi lets you buy messages in bundle. Pay for the bundle conveniently using your credit card. Once you purchase the messages, you can specify the recipient's cell phone number and enter the text to send. You will receive the reply on your cell phone or Ipipi inbox (depending on the option you select).
2. Sign up on Txtbe by going to its website and clicking the 'Sign up' button. You can make a free account, and send and receive the texts for free. It allows you to send messages to a number of countries.Once you're signed up, click the 'Send SMS' button. Compose the message and enter the recipient's full phone number. Then click 'Send.' If the recipient replies to your text, you will receive the reply in your email inbox (the email ID you provided when you signed up).
3. Sign up on SendSMSNow website by going to its website and clicking the 'Register' button. It's a totally free service that lets you send and receive International SMS. Once you're registered, scroll down the page and enter the recipient's phone number. Then type the message you want to send and click 'Send.' When the recipient replies, you will see the message in the website's inbox.

How to Use Your NDS to Send Text


Text Messaging via PictoChat
1. Turn on your Nintendo DS by pressing the switch on the side of your hand-held console. Nintendo DS Lites are also powered on this way, but the Nintendo DSi and Nintendo DSi XL models use a power button located below the directional keypad.
2. Select the 'PictoChat' icon from the main menu using your finger or the stylus pen.
3. Type out your message using the virtual keyboard on the bottom screen. Alternatively, you can also draw or write out a message with the stylus.
4. Click on the 'Send' button once complete to send your text message to other users connected to the chat room wirelessly.

5. Turn on your Nintendo DSi or Nintendo DSi XL by pressing the power button located below the directional keypad.
6. Connect your Nintendo DSi to the Internet via a wireless router. From the menu, select 'System Settings,' then 'Internet.' Press 'Connection Settings' and select the connection file of your choice, then press the 'Search For An Access Point' icon. Your Nintendo DSi will then connect to your local broadband Internet in a matter of seconds.
7. Select 'Nintendo DSi Shop' from the main menu and download the free 'Nintendo DSi Web Browser' application. Select 'Nintendo DSi Web Browser' from the main menu after the download is complete.
8. Log in to your Google Voice account from the Nintendo DSi web browser. If you do not have a Google Voice account, you can create one for free at Google.com.
9. Scroll down and select 'SMS' to bring up the text messaging service. Type in the recipient's phone number and your message, then press 'Send' to send a text message on your Nintendo DSi.
