How to Locate a Cell Phone by GPS Online
1. Purchase or register for a GPS service. There are several, both paid and free, that you might wish to consider. Some of these are Mologogo, Accutracking, and Instamapper. As of 2010, these services range in price from free to $9.95 per month. The basic difference is that the free services will offer fewer features such as the ability to create reports and download the GPS data.
2. Mologogo has been around since 2005, is the simplest of the suggested services and as of 2010 is free to use. You simply register for the site, download the software and literally within minutes you can start tracking your phone. You will be able to log in to the website from any computer, Web-enabled PDA or smart phone, and you can follow your phone on the map wherever it goes anywhere in the world that has a signal.
3. Try Instamapper. This service is very similar to Mologogo. It offers real-time tracking with maps that update as often as every five seconds. Like Mologogo, it uses Google Maps, which allows you to toggle back and forth between a map view and a satellite image view. Instamapper will also give you the speed, altitude and heading of the cell phone that you are tracking.
4. Buy Accutracking. This service as of 2010 costs $9.95 per month. It has all of the features of the other two, but it also provides detailed information that can be downloaded and turned into reports. This includes details like the average idle time at a location, the past 30-day history of movement as well as the average speed of movement. This program is best suited for business or professional use--for example, if you need to track a fleet of drivers or employees that work outside of the office.
How to Put Free Ringtones on Alltel Prepaid Phones
1. Obtain or create the MP3 music file you would like to use for your ringtone. Many websites allow you to download mp3 files for ringtones, and some offer programs to shorten the file to a 30-second clip.
2. Connect your phone to your computer to transfer the mp3 file. This can be done by connecting your phone to your computer using a USB cord.
3. Open your 'My Computer' folder.
4. Locate the drive that has been designated for your phone. Your master drive will be 'C,' and each subsequent drive letter is for attachments such as a DVD player or, in this case, your phone as a mass storage device.
5. Go to the save location of the mp3 file, most likely in your 'My Documents' folder. Copy the file by pressing 'Edit' at the top left of the page, then selecting the option 'Copy.'
6. Double-click the drive letter for your phone to open it. Click on 'Edit' and select the option 'Paste.' This will transfer the file onto your phone.
7. Disconnect the USB cord from your phone. Go to the main menu of your phone.
8. Open the 'Music' folder on your phone. Select the mp3 file you transferred to the phone.
9. Select the 'Options' button on your phone. Pick the option that says 'Set as...' and the submenu option of 'Ringtone.' Once you have done this, the mp3 file will play as your ringtone.
