How to Send Receive Free Online Text Messages

1. Log into your email account. If you do not have a current email account there are many free services available online you can register with for a free email account.
2. Compose a new email. In the address bar, where you write the email address of the person you want to text, first enter the phone number you want to text, followed by the appropriate wireless carrier code. For instance, if you were trying to email the phone number 555-123-4567 you would email 5551234567@carriercode.com. For a full list of carrier codes see the references section.
3. Compose your message. Remember text messages are small messages, usually no longer then 160 characters. Try to keep the message within those parameters so the person receiving your text does not receive a partially cut off message.
4. Press send. Your text message will now be sent to the intended recipient. Any text messages they send back will show up in your email in-box. You may reply to the received message through email to continue talking back and forth over text.
