How to Send an SMS From a Computer

Sending an SMS through Yahoo! messenger
1. Click 'Actions' on the top of your Yahoo! messenger.
2. Select 'Send an SMS message' from the drop-down menu.
3. Select a contact or choose the 'Other contact' tab.
4. Enter the phone number, including area code, in the entry field.
5. Type your message in the chat box.
6. Press the 'Send' button.
Sending an SMS though email
7. Open your email client and follow the standard procedure to compose a new message.
8. Enter the address of the phone in the 'To' field of the email. Cellular phone service providers usually have a standard format for turning a cellular number into an email address. See the link in Resources for a partial list of those addresses at SMS411.net.
9. Type your message in the body of the email. A subject is not necessary unless your email client requires it.
10. Click the 'Send' button.
