How to Customize Your Own Phone Faceplates for Free
1. Brainstorm a design you would like to put onto your phone's faceplate. It's best to do this on paper. The model of your phone will play a major factor on how you can design your faceplate.
2. Shut your phone off.
3. Take off the back cover of your phone and remove the battery and SIM card. Make sure to keep them in a safe place where they won't come in contact with any glue, paint or other decorating materials.
4. Create a clean work area for you to customize your faceplate. If you plan to use paint or glue, you will need a cloth or napkins to protect your work surface from being painted or glued.
5. Remove your faceplate from your cell phone and place it on your work area.
6. Take your decoration materials and spread them out on your work area.
7. Begin customizing your faceplate. If you're going to paint your faceplate, spray paint will work best. Make sure your faceplate is on a protective cloth and then add a layer of paint to your plate. Wait an hour for the paint to fully dry. Don't paint the inner side of the faceplate as this may affect the way it snaps into place on your phone. If you plan to add beads to your plate, a glue gun will work best. Dab a small dot of glue onto your faceplate where you would like to place your bead, and then use tweezers to place the bead on top of the glue. Use the tweezers to apply pressure to the bead, and use a napkin to gently wipe away an excess glue before it dries.Glitter and stickers are rather easy to apply. Just make sure the glitter fully dries before putting the faceplate back onto your phone, and don't place any stickers on the inner side of your faceplate that could affect the way the plate snaps into place on your phone.
8. Let your faceplate fully dry and the snap it back into place on your phone.
9. Put your SIM card and battery back into your phone and replace the back cover on your phone.
