How to Send SMS Through a Web Service
1. Use an online texting service. Input the text of a message and the phone number into a form on the site, and the text message will be sent to the subscriber you are trying to reach. Some companies also offer international text messaging through their online services.
2. Read the terms of service carefully. Be aware that some will ask you to register, pay a fee, or may use your or the recipient's phone number for advertising purposes. You may also be charged fees for items or services you did not knowingly request, so be sure to read the Web service's terms of service before you send the text message.
3. Use an online messenger such as Yahoo Messenger or AOL Instant Messenger to send a text message. Yahoo Messenger allows you to send free text messages to people around the world in countries such as the Philippines and Vietnam. Only certain wireless carriers are supported by this service, however.
4. Email your text message. Make a list of your most contacted people's cell phone carrier. Each cell phone carrier has email addresses that connect to text message inboxes. Type the phone number of the person you want to contact, followed by the email extension of the person's cell phone carrier. Find a few providers' email addresses in a list on Popular Mechanic's 'How to Email Text Messages to Any Phone' article.
