Sending SMS Messages with a Cell Phone
1. Using your cell phone's navigation keys, scroll to the SMS icon on your phone. It may be called 'Text Messages' or 'SMS Messages' depending on the type of phone. Click on the button.
2. Select the option that allows you to compose a new message. It might read 'New Message,' 'New Text Message,' or 'Compose Message.'
3. Type in the full ten-digit phone number of the recipient. You may have to click 'Okay' or 'Enter' before proceeding to write the message; other times the message box will appear on the same screen.
4. Access the message box and type your message.
5. Click on the 'Send' button to complete the SMS message.
Sending SMS Messages via the Internet
6. Open up a web browser and navigate to http://www.text4free.net.
7. Click on 'Send Free SMS.' Scroll down the page until you see a series of text boxes.
8. Enter the recipient's phone number in the designated box. Select his or her cell phone provider from the drop-down menu. Enter the message you would like to send into the box marked 'Step 2.' Select the number of text messages you would like the recipient to receive.
9. Type in the code that is located directly above the 'Send Message' button. Then click the button to send the message.
