How to Block SMS on ATT
1. Log in to your AT&T MyWireless online account. If you do not have an online account at AT&T, you can easily register for one using your AT&T phone number. You will need to pick a password to get an account.
2. Go to the 'Message Preferences' page located within your MyWireless account by clicking on the search bar in the top right hand corner of the screen and typing in 'Message Preferences.' You will see a list of search results, including one that says 'Register for Message Preferences.' Click on that link and it will bring you to the registration page.
3. Enter your AT&T mobile number once again, along with a password to register your phone and enter the 'Message Preferences' page. The website will send you an automated text message that contains a registration number for you to enter to gain access to the Message Preferences page.
4. Enter the five-digit registration number you have received via text message into the box on the next screen, next to 'Registration Number.' Click 'Submit.' You will now be able to enter 'Message Preferences.'
5. Select the option that says 'Block' on the drop-down list next to where it says 'Mobile Number Control' on the 'Message Preferences' page. If you also want to block all text messages sent from email address, you can check that box as well. It is located above the drop-down menu.
6. Click on the button at the bottom of the page that says 'Submit' once you have finished making your changes. This will close out the 'Message Preferences' page and save any changes you have made.
