How to Send a Text Message From MySpace
1. Choose a third-party text messaging service that supports SMS text messaging via MySpace such as Txt2day.com, TextYourBuddy.com or Send A Text Online. Follow the instructions for generating the required code and adding it to your website. Typically, you will need to provide certain information to configure the third-party service for your MySpace page.
2. Input your cellphone number including area code into the form field labeled 'Your Cell Phone Number With the Area Code' or the equivalent. Under 'Default Text,' type a short message that you want your visitors to see on your MySpace page.
3. Click the drop-down menu arrow under 'Your Cell Phone Carrier' and select the name of your cellphone carrier from the list. If your mobile carrier is not listed, you won't be able to use the text messaging service to create a SMS text message box on your MySpace page.
4. Press the 'Make Me the Code' button. After a few moments, the 'Here's Your Code' page will load in your browser. Press the 'Ctrl' and 'A' keys together on your keyboard to highlight the HTML code and then press 'Ctrl' and 'C' simultaneously to copy the code to your clipboard. Alternately, you can open 'Notepad' or your favorite text editor and create a .txt document for the HTML code. Press 'Ctrl' and 'V,' then paste the HTML code in Notepad or your text editor. Give the .txt document a name and save the file on your desktop.
5. Log in to your MySpace account. Click 'Edit Profile' and choose a location where you want the SMS messaging box to appear. Paste the HTML code in the desired location and save your settings. Verify that the SMS messaging box displays correctly by reloading your MySpace page in your browser.
