How to Send Receive Free SMS Text Messages

On Gmail
1. Open Gmail on your Web browser. Log in by entering your username and password.
2. Go to “Settings” from the top right corner of the page. Select the tab “Labs.”
3. Scroll down and check the box next to “Text Messaging (SMS) in Chat.”
4. Click the “Save Changes” button at the bottom of the page. Your email will now reload.
5. Enter a phone number in the search field of the chat. You will then see a contextual option for SMS. As the recipient receives the text message, he can reply through the phone just like an ordinary message, but it will reach your Gmail Chat window as an instant message.
Through Peekamo
6. Go to Peekamo’s website and click the link “Sign Up for a free Account.'
7. Select your country and network carrier. Enter your cell phone number, email address and password. Click “Next” to proceed.
8. Click on “Send SMS” and enter the recipient’s cell phone number. Enter the message and confirm by hitting “Enter.” The recipient will then receive the SMS to which he will be able to reply for free. The only catch is that the text message will carry an advertisement. For instance, the text message might be followed by a commercial website’s link.
Through Txt Drop
9. Visit Txt Drop’s website.
10. Enter your email address in the required field.
11. Enter the recipient’s phone number in the next field.
12. Enter your message in the message box.
