How to Unlock a RIZR Z3 for Free

1. Dial '*#06#' on the RIZR Z3. This displays the special identification code, the IMEI, required to generate the unlock code.
2. Contact your wireless company's customer service number. Request the subsidy unlock code for the RIZR Z3. Many countries have passed laws which obligate the company to provide the code free of charge. Explaining to the customer service representative that you wish to use the phone overseas will help expedite the request.
3. Turn off the phone and replace the original SIM card with one from a different wireless network. Turn on the phone.
4. Enter the subsidy unlock code obtained from the customer service department when asked for the password. The phone is now unlocked and ready to use on any network.
