How to Send an SMS in Tamil
1. Download the Tamil Pad, a free word processor for your computer. You can type emails and other documents directly from the Tamil Pad. It also comes with a 'type-as-you-speak' layout that simplifies typing in Tamil. Download the software from the Shareware Connection. Install it and launch the application. Compose you message in Tamil. Go to the a site that lets you send SMS messages online such as Mobile Sender, or use a service listed at Gecko and Fly. Copy your Tamil message from your Tamil Pad word processor and paste it in the message field of the online text message website. Enter the recipient's cell phone number. Click 'Send.'
2. Download the UCSCSellinam application. This application lets you send Tamil SMS directly from your cell phone. However, the receiver needs to install the application on his phone as well. Open your phone's web browser and put this address in your browser: http://192.248.16.120:8080/ucscwap/tamilsms.wml. Download the application and install the software on your cell phone. Open the application from your applications folder. Click it to begin sending Tamil SMS.
3. Download Azhagi Tamil Software for your computer, a free software that allows you to type in Tamil. You can directly input Tamil into any windows application. Go the Azhagi website and click on the 'Downloads' link at the top of the screen. Download the program and install it on your computer. Type in Tamil using your email client or a word processor. Open an online text messaging site such as Mobile Sender, or use a service listed at Gecko and Fly. Paste your message in the 'To' field. Click 'Send.'
