How to Work Sms Text Messengers
Using A Cell Phone to Send a Text Message
1. Go to the menu section of your cell phone and select text messages. If you are unsure how to access your cell phone menu, consult your cell phone's user guide. This will open up a blank page to begin typing your message.
2. At the top of the blank page, there will be a section called 'TO.' In this section, put the name or phone number of the person you are sending your text message to. If the person you are send the text message to is already in your phone book, most phones will allow you access your phone book to enter information from your contact list. If a person is not in your contacts list, be sure you have the right phone number for the person you are sending the text message.
3. Now you can type a you text message in the blank page underneath the 'TO' section. You can use up to 150 characters in your text message. This includes letters, numbers or any sort of punctuation. Press the send button on your phone to send your message.

4. Download the instant messenger service to your computer or cell phone. If you are unsure which to download stick with a commonly used messenger like Windows Live Messenger, AIM, Yahoo or Google. The Messenger you choose will give you instructions on how to download their service to your computer or cell phone. After you have downloaded your instant messenger service, you can import your email accounts to make sending text messages easier.
5. Locate the text message icon on your instant messenger service. This icon is usually shaped like a phone. If you are unsure as to what a icon does, hover your mouse over the icon and you will see a small pop up box telling you what that icon does.
6. Click on the text message button. Much like with a cell phone you will see a 'TO' section at the top of the page. You can also populate this section using your contact lists. Type your message and press the send button to send the message.
