How to Send SMS Via a Google Voice Account

Send SMS from the Google Voice Website
1. Go to Google.com/Voice from any computer or phone with a Web browser.
2. Enter your email address and password in the form fields and click the 'Sign In' button.
3. Click the purple 'Text' button on the top left side of the screen to open the 'Send a Text Message' box.
4. Enter the phone number of the person your want to send the SMS to in the 'To' box and type your message in the 'Message' box.
5. Click the 'Send' button to send the SMS text.
Send SMS from Your Email Account
6. Go to Google.com/Voice and log into your account.
7. Click on your Google Voice phone number at the top of the screen.
8. Select the 'Voicemail & Text' tab under the 'Settings' section.
9. Click the 'Text Forwarding' box to enable forwarding of SMS texts to your email account, then click the 'Save Changes' button.
10. Wait until you receive an SMS text in your email account, then click the 'Reply' button and type your message.
11. Click the 'Send' button to send the SMS text.
