How to Send Receive SMS on the iPod

1. Download an iPod SMS application from the App Store on your iPod. Most of these apps will require you to pay a fee for the app, while providing the messaging service free after installation.
2. Install the app on your iPod and launch it from the Home screen page where it located itself.
3. Tap on the new message option within the app to create the SMS and enter the information you want to include.
4. Enter the recipient's phone number or select the contact from your address book and send the SMS.
5. Receive an SMS by opening the SMS app and viewing the message you were sent. If you are not using your phone, the phone will vibrate and display a Push notification when you have an incoming message.
