How to Get SMS Settings on an iPhone 2.2.1
1. Turn on your iPhone. Tap the 'Settings' app in the main menu. This launches the settings console which you will use to change your SMS settings.
2. Tap the 'Sounds' and 'New Text Message' menu. Change which sound you want to use when notified of a new text message.
3. Tap each sound once to preview it. Alert tones may include buzzes, beeps or tones.
4. Tap on the sound a second time to select it. You will see a check mark next to the sound you have chosen.
5. Tap the 'Sounds' and 'Settings' menu. Tap on 'Messages' and select 'Repeat Alert.' This lets your iPhone notify you repeatedly of a new text message.
6. Test out your phone. Contact your friend and ask him to send you a SMS. Verify that your volume is up so you can test your new alert.
