How to Send an SMS by Phone for Free
Message Option
1. Navigate to your phone message menu. This is accomplished by either tapping or pressing the button that corresponds to the 'Message' menu.
2. Enter the 10-digit cellular number you wish to send an SMS to. If you are sending the message to more than one person, separate phone numbers with a comma.
3. Type the subject of the message in the appropriate field. This is optional, as the message will be sent with or without a subject. If you're not entering a subject, just scroll, tap or arrow down to the next field to enter your message.
4. Compose your message, keeping in mind the maximum character amount your phone may allow per SMS message sent. With some phones, the message may be converted to an MMS message, which is a multimedia message, if it exceeds the initial character limit.
5. Click, press or tab 'Send' or 'OK' to send your SMS by phone for free. The message will be sent to the recipient.

6. Navigate your phone's Internet browser to the free text message service you choose to use by typing it in the address or search bar.

Zoom in on the page, if necessary, and begin to enter the information for each field requested. The info you may have to enter is the destination phone number, phone provider of the receiver and then the message. You can enter your email or phone number (if offered), for replies.
8. Enter any other information required on the site. Required information or selections usually consist of a check mark to indicate you agree to the terms and conditions of the site. Some sites may have a code for you to enter, for security purposes. Just follow the required options.
9. Press 'Send' to finalize and send your message. You have just used the Internet and sent an SMS by phone for free.
