Free Games for 3G Phones
Fruit Ninja Lite
Public Enemy #1
Fruit Ninja is one of the simplest games available. Your finger controls a sword with one mission: kill all fruit. In the lite version, you play in classic mode. You must cut all the fruits in half while dodging the bombs. Combos occur when you slice three or more fruits at a time. You will be awarded extra points for slicing fruits in larger groups. Occasionally, 'critical' fruits will come up and award you an extra 10 points upon being sliced. These critical fruits are completely random and look like any other fruit in the game. The free lite version caps the score at 125 and is available for iPhone. The full version is available in the Android Market for 99 cents.
Cut the Rope Lite
The objective of Cut the Rope is to feed a piece of candy to OmNom, a small green creature with a major sweet tooth. The candy is hung up with ropes in obstacle-filled rooms. You must cut the ropes in the correct order to get the candy to OmNom. As the game progresses, new elements are introduced, like air blowers and stretched ropes. The free lite version does not include all the levels. If you want them all, you have to purchase the full version for 99 cents. This app is available for the iPhone and is coming soon to the Android market.
Angry Birds Free
Angry Birds follows the plight of some -- well -- angry birds. Green pigs have stolen their eggs, and the birds just want to get them back and cause some swine casualties along the way. The pigs have taken refuge in poorly constructed buildings nearby. The birds take their giant slingshot and take turns catapulting themselves into the buildings housing the pigs. The player is allotted a certain number of birds per level, and different colored birds have different abilities. For example, if the player taps the screen again after launching a blue bird, the bird splits into three separate birds. Angry Birds costs 99 cents; however, there is a free version. Angry Birds is available for iPhone and Android.
Pocket Tanks
Kind of like this, but cuter.
Pocket Tanks pits two pocket-sized tanks against each other on a 2D field. The game starts with weapon selection. Some weapons cause damage to your opponent or fling dirt on top of him so he cannot attack you without hurting himself. Other weapons clear some of the environment away to make a better angle for attack. Pocket Tanks is free for iPhone users; a deluxe version with more weapons is available for $4.99.
iSlash
In iSlash, your goal is to cut the playing board down to a fraction of its original size. The catch is there are ninja stars floating around the board. You slice with your finger and can only make straight cuts while keeping all the ninja stars in one group. If you or your cut's path touches a ninja star, you must start over. As play progresses, metal edges that you cannot cut through come into play, along with more difficult stars. The game is free and is only available on the iPhone.
Flood-It!
Flood-It! is a rather simple game. The game board starts out looking like a square separated into tiny squares that are separated into six colors. You control the game by selecting which color will start by taking over the small squares of different colors around it. You do this by selecting the color you want from the bottom. Play continues like this, and you keep selecting colors trying to turn the game board one color in 22 moves. The game play is simple and addictive. Flood-It! is available for iPhone and Android.
