How to Send a Free SMS Message With Orange
1. Log in to your Orange account after clicking the link listed under 'Resources,' making sure to register if you have not already done so. To register, enter your mobile number, highlight the box next to the text 'I don't have a password and would like to register' and click 'Continue.' Follow the instructions, which include directions to confirm your name and billing information, to register your account.
2. Create a free online SMS. Click on the 'Send a Free Text' button along the top frame of the window, then enter your recipient's UK phone number into the 'To' field. Type a message in the box, keeping in mind that any characters beyond 150 will constitute a second message. Proofread your message to ensure there are no errors and your friend's number is accurate. Orange does not refund your free text credit if you send to the wrong person.
3. Send your message anonymously if you don't want to be charged. Although there is a box you can tick if you want to text the person using your Orange number, doing so constitutes that you agree to be charged for it. To circumvent this anonymity and still send a text for free, you can include your name or phone number at the end of your message if you have room. Click the Orange 'Send' button to send your message.
