How to Register for Traffic Alerts by SMS

1. Create an account with Traffic.com. Enter your home city, email address, and create a username and password. Click 'Register.' Traffic.com will send you a verification email.
2. Log in to the email account you used to register. Open the email from Traffic.com and click the link to verify your account. You will be taken back to Traffic.com.
3. Click the 'My Traffic' tab to view details for your area and select 'Add a Drive.' After you add a drive, you can choose to receive text traffic alerts for that route.
4. Enter your starting and ending point for the drive and click 'Go.' After a map opens showing your route and traffic warning, click 'Go' under 'Save Your Drive.'
5. Enter a name for your drive. For example, if this is the route you take to work, you could enter 'Work.' Click 'Save.'
6. Click 'Set Up An Alert' under 'Schedule Alerts.' Enter a name for the alert and choose how often you want to receive alerts for this route.
7. Choose 'Text Message' under 'Send Alert To' and enter your cell phone number. Click 'Add Alert.' You will now receive traffic alerts for this route. If you need to add alerts for more routes, go back to 'My Traffic.'
