How to Get Low Income Assistance on ATT Telephone Bill
1. Go to AT&T's website at att.com.
2. Click on 'Wireless.'
3. Click on 'Explore.'
4. Click on 'Resources.' You can find this listed under 'Wireless.'
5. Click on 'Community Support.'
6. Click on 'Lifeline and Link Up.' This brings you to the page with information and application forms for each state's Lifeline and Link Up services.
7. Determine if you are eligible for Lifeline and Link Up support. The states where these programs are available are listed on the AT&T site. If you see your state, click on it to get details on eligibility requirements. In general, eligibility is determined based on whether you qualify for and receive other government benefits, such as Medicaid, food stamps or Section 8 public housing assistance.
8. Fill out an application. You can download and print applications from the AT&T website. You must fill out the specific application for your state. On the application, you must give your personal and phone service information, declare what government support that you already receive and consent to a credit check. Depending on the state, you may need to submit supporting documents, such as your previous year's tax return.
