How to Block a Number on a Sprint Cell Phone
1. Request Sprint to block all incoming calls. Currently Sprint is unable to block a single incoming phone number, but they can block all incoming phone numbers at no charge to you. This is handy if you wish to not be distracted by any incoming phone calls for a temporary time period (for example, if you're studying for an exam). Call Sprint Customer Service at (888) 211-4727 and request blocking on all incoming calls to your cell phone number. When a person calls your number, he hears continuous ringing (no message). To resume receiving incoming calls, call Sprint Customer Service and request termination of call blocking.
2. Restrict numbers on your Sprint cell phone. To restrict, or block, a phone number, it must first be in your cell phone contact list. Go to your 'Settings' option (if you don't see this feature on your phone, check your cell phone documentation). Scroll down the Settings options, select the 'More' option, scroll to the 'Restrict and Lock' option and select it. If a prompt for your lock code displays, enter the last 4 digits of your cell phone number. Select the 'Restrict Voice' option and select the 'Incoming Calls' option. Review the options. Depending on your cell phone, you can either restrict all incoming calls or a specific number. When you wish to unblock calls, select the 'Unlock' option.
3. Test free call blocking software for Palm devices. If you have Sprint service on a Palm device, you can download a free trial for call blocking software that lets you block all incoming calls, selected incoming phone numbers and more. Go to Wishsolutions.com and press the 'Products' link in the left column. Under 'Palm OS Apps' category, press the 'Download trial here' link (next to 'Callblock Basic Edition'). This displays the CallBlock Basic Edition service on the MobiHand vendor website. In the box on the top right, press the 'Free Trial' option and follow the instructions. After a free trial period, you must purchase this software to continue using it.
4. Test free call blocking software for any cell phone. TrapCall offers a call-blocking service that lets you block all calls, specified calls, unmask 'Unknown' caller IDs and more. Go to Trapcall.com, press the 'Try Trapcall free!' button at the bottom right of the page and follow the instructions. After a free trial period, you must purchase this service to continue using it.
