How to Send SMS From an iPad
Talkatone
1. Tap the 'App Store' app on your iPad. Tap the 'Search' box and type in 'Talkatone.' Tap the download link to install the app.
2. Tap 'Create an Account' and type in your email address, username and password. Tap 'OK' to log in to your account.
3. Tap 'Contacts' at the bottom of the screen. Tap 'Add a Contact' to add contacts to your list. Type in the name and phone number of a contact and tap 'Add.'
4. Tap the contact in your list. Type an SMS message into the text box at the bottom of the page and tap 'Send' to send the message.
Skype
5. Download and install Skype for iOS from the App Store. Launch Skype on your iPad.
6. Tap 'Create an Account.' Type in your personal information and tap 'Create Account' to log in.
7. Tap 'Subscriptions' on the right side of the screen. Tap the name of the country you want to send texts in, then tap 'Buy Now.' Alternately, tap 'Buy Credit' at the top of the screen to purchase Skype credit.
8. Tap 'Contacts - Add Contact.' Type the name and number of a contact into the text field, or type in the email address of another Skype user. Tap 'Add' to add the contact.
9. Tap the contact's name. Type an SMS message in the text box and tap 'Send.'
Tru App
10. Launch the App Store and search for 'Truphone.' Tap 'Free,' then 'Install' to install the app on your iPad.
11. Launch Tru from the home screen on your iPad. Type in your personal information. Tap 'Next' to create your account.
12. Tap 'SMS' to compose a message. Tap the 'Compose' icon in the upper-right corner of the screen to write a new message.
13. Tap 'To:' and enter the phone number to send your text to. Tap 'Send' to send the message.
