How to Change a Cell Number With ATT
1. Visit AT&T's wireless website. Click 'Register' next to 'Log in' if you do not already own an AT&T online account. Click 'Register' under 'Wireless.' Enter your wireless phone number, and follow the on-screen guide to finish creating your account.
2. Click 'My Account' on the AT&T wireless homepage. Click 'Log in' under 'Wireless.' Enter your account information to view your main account page.
3. Click 'My Services' and 'Phone.' Select 'Wireless Number Change.' A new screen will appear.
4. Type in your ZIP code in the 'ZIP Code' text box. Click the 'Next' button. A list of available cell phone numbers will appear.
5. Scroll through the entire list of numbers. Click the white circle next to the number you wish to use as your primary cell phone number. If a green dot does not appear in the white circle, click the circle again.
6. Click 'Submit' at the bottom of the page. As long as there were no errors, a new screen will pop up and inform you that your number change was successful. In rare cases, someone may have chosen the same number a few seconds earlier. You will be asked to select another number if that occurs.
7. Send a mass text message to all of your contacts informing them of your number change, if you have an unlimited text plan. Otherwise, email them.
