How to Retrieve a Deleted SMS From a Mobile

1. Get SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) data-recovery software. A few that you can use include Sanmaxi, DRPU, and Pro Data Doctor (see Resources).  As of 2010, the average price for these programs is around $69.00, but DRPU comes with a free trial. This kit includes a hardware device for connecting yourmobile phone's SIM card to your computer as well as an application for reading the text messages.
2. Install software by inserting the CD-ROM into your PC and clicking 'Next.' Wait for the program to install and click 'OK' when it has completed.
3. Turn your mobile phone off, detach its battery and carefully pull the SIM card out.  Insert it to your SIM-card reader. Connect the SIM-card reader into your computer's USB port. Your computer will install the new drive and notify you that your device is ready to use.
4. Start the application up by going to the 'Start Menu' and clicking on the program.
5. Click on 'File' in the upper left corner of the program and click 'Download Texts.'  Your application's window will be filled with text messages. The highlighted ones are the deleted messages. Recover them by clicking on them and selecting 'Undelete.'
