How to Save Text Conversations on the Evo

1. Save your text messages with the SMS Backup & Restore application. It allows you to schedule backups, email the backed up SMS conversations to yourself and store backups of your conversations on the SD card. You can also use the Restore option to put conversations back on your Evo if you delete them accidentally, or transfer them from an older phone. This tool does not support MMS messages yet.
2. Email SMS conversations to yourself using SMS Backup. Launch it from your Application menu and you can back up your text messages automatically or manually, and send them to your Gmail account. It does not save SMS messages onto your SD card and it does not support MMS messages.
3. Back up your SMS and MMS messages using Go SMS Pro. It is a full service text application, allowing you to send and receive as well as manage your conversations. It also supports Facebook chat. You can choose to back up all of your SMS conversations or if you only want to save a few, you can choose them one-by-one. It also integrates with your contacts application and allows you to set texting groups.
4. Keep your SMS and MMS messages with SMS Backup +. This application allows you to back up your SMS and MMS messages. You can also restore your SMS messages, but restoring MMS is not supported yet. You can schedule backups using Google calenders, but SMS Backup + saves onto your SD card and does not send the backup as an email to your Gmail account.
