How to Send an SMS From iChat

1. Click 'File' on the menu and then click on 'Send SMS.' Depending on the particular version of iChat you are using, it may read 'New Chat with Person.'
2. Select your AIM or .Mac from the pop-up window that you want to use to send the SMS message. Remember, you can only choose an AIM or .Mac account and you cannot send messages from Google Talk, Bonjour or Jabber accounts.
3. Type the phone number of the person to whom you want to send the SMS message and then click 'OK.'
4. Type your message in the chat window and press the 'Return' or 'Enter' key on your keyboard. You will see an automatic reply confirming that your message has been sent.
