How to Send SMS to MetroPCS Phones
1. Go to your text messaging inbox via the menu or home screen icon on your mobile phone. Select a contact or enter the mobile number to send the message to. Type a text message. Your phone will automatically limit your message to the standard 160 characters. Click 'Send.'
2. Type the recipient's MetroPCS phone number including area code followed by @mymetropcs.com in the 'To:' field in your email program. When finished, it will look like this 0123456789@metropcs.com. Type a message in the body of the email. Be sure not to go over 160 characters or the message will not be delivered. Click 'Send.'
3. Sign into an instant messaging program such as AIM. Click on the name that the SMS will be sent to. Right-click to see whether the recipient's mobile number is stored. If not, enter it into the contact information, or click on the menu and locate the 'Send an instant message' feature, which will allow the entry of a non-stored phone number. Type a message in the message box and remember not to go over 160 characters. Click 'Enter' on your keyboard and the message will be sent.
