How to Send SMS to a Database
1. Download and install the SMSLibX program onto your PC. Accept the defaults. This program will allow you to set the parameters for sending and receiving the SMS text messages into a database, which is Access.
2. Download and install the example SMS Access database. This will let you create a set of example tables that will contain the information for the SMS transmission. By doing so, you avoid the hard work and the configuration is in place ready to go.
3. Install and connect your mobile device/phone to your PC. Here you are sending and receiving text messages, but in order to send any SMS text message to your database, you have to have a connection in place.
4. Configure your system by launching the SMS Database Program. You can do this by clicking the 'Start' icon on the lower left-hand side of the task bar. Select 'Programs,' then locate and click the SMS Database.
5. Select the modem type from the drop-down box on the SMS Access database. Select the appropriate port and click 'Connect.'
6. Go to the 'Receive SMS' section the Access database window. This will let you put the SMS message into the database. SMS message are automatically stored into the 'TMessages' table where they appear on the related message list. When this doesn't occur automatically, activate the SMS polling option from the 'Receive SMS' section.
