How to Unlock a Motorola V551 for Free
1. Type *#06# into your phone's keypad to obtain its IMEI number. Take note of it and set it aside for a minute.
2. Contact your network provider's tech support department and request an unlock code. Be prepared to give your mobile number, IMEI number and possibly your voice mail password. If they ask for a reason, tell them that you're traveling overseas or that you plan on selling your phone.
3. Power down your V551 and remove its SIM card by sliding off the back cover, taking out the battery and sliding the SIM card out. Insert your prepaid or foreign SIM card in its place and turn the phone back on.
4. Enter your unlock code that you received in step 2 when your screen says 'Enter Subsidiary Code.' Your phone is now unlocked.

As The article suggests, I too unlocked my Motorola V551 using unlock code only. But I g ot the unlock code for my Motorola V551 from Unlock-Zone.Com at affordable cost with easy unlocking guide. It was very useful for me.
