How to Unlock a Samsung SGH

1. Turn off your Samsung SGH phone and put the SIM card, from the new mobile phone carrier, inside your Samsung SGH phone.
2. Turn on your Samsung SGH mobile phone. Check if the battery is full enough so you can perform the unlocking process. If needed, recharge your phone's battery before unlocking it.
3. Flip open, if needed, making the screen of your Samsung SGH phone visible.
4. Type *#9998*3323# or #*7337# if you have a newer Samsung SGH model. Since the SGH line includes many different models, check one of the many websites that provide free unlock codes for Samsung SGH phones. This way, you will be sure that the code you are typing in is the right kind of code for your mobile phone model. (Check the Resources section to see some of the websites with the Samsung unlock codes mentioned in this step.)
5. Wait until the phone reboots, which usually takes anywhere from a few moments to one minute.
6. Type *0141 and then press the Call button.
7. Turn off you Samsung SGH phone and then put the new SIM card inside again.
8. Turn the phone on again, this time typing 00000000 once the phone is ready. When you see the message, 'Network lock deactivated,' that means that your Samsung SGH mobile phone is unlocked and ready to use.
