How to Send SMS in India

From Your Cellphone
1. Enter the number you wish to send the text message to into your cellphone. This number can be from India or any other country. Make sure you use the appropriate prefix digits. For example, use +1 for the United States or +91 for India.
2. Create a new text message on your phone and add the number you wish to send it to as the recipient contact.
3. Hit 'Send' to send the message from within India. If you find your cellphone service plan does not cover international calling or texting by providing an upgrade to an international calling plan or if the cost of sending SMS this way is too high for you, send a free SMS from a free online SMS sending service.
From the Internet
4. Find a site that provides a free SMS sending service to other countries, including India. Try one like Spice SMS or Send SMS Now.
5. Select the country you want to send the SMS to along with the proper prefix code. Type in the cellphone number you wish to send the SMS to. If you use an SMS-sending service that doesn't automatically add the international country code, be sure to add it.
6. Enter your number into the 'From' box so the recipient knows where the message came from.
7. Enter the message text and hit 'Send.' If the site requires you to enter a capcha code, do so before clicking on 'Send.'
