How to Send SMS With a Program

1. Download a program that supports chat to SMS formats such as Skype. Set up a user name, profile and 'Skype number' by following the introduction prompts that follow the program download. Access the prompts (if missed during download) by clicking the 'tools' pull down menu, and then 'Skype Access.'
2. Select the 'Call Phones' tab in the left column of the Skype interface. Type the phone number in the provided box area code first with using the traditional '1' beforehand. Click the bottom right hand number of the number pad that says 'SMS' after typing in the number.
3. Type in the body of the text message in the box that appears after clicking the 'SMS' button. Make sure the SMS message is only 62 characters, or the message will be broken up in to several messages for each group of 62. Select the send button. Wait a moment for the text message to send and a receipt of delivery will appear on screen shortly.
