Functionality
Many Google SMS programs work through your existing Google accounts, such as Gmail, Google Voice and Google Calendar. Other Google SMS programs require you to send a short message to a specific phone number to receive a response. Generally, these features work well, and have quick response times. For example, if you request driving directions through Google SMS, you typically receive a response within a few moments.
Carrier Compatibility
Google SMS works with every major wireless provider, including T-Mobile, AT&T, Sprint, Verizon, MetroPCS and Boost. In order to use Google SMS, you must have an SMS-capable handset and texting service through your wireless provider. If you do not have texting service, you must pay a per-use fee for each text sent from Google SMS.
Performance Issues
The Google SMS service can exhibit some performance issues. For example, complications between your wireless provider's mobile aggregator and Google SMS can cause several duplicate text messages to appear on your phone. If you do not have unlimited texting, you may incur an additional fee from your wireless provider. Your existing Google accounts may not send text message updates to your phone, or may not send them on time. For example, if you have SMS updates for your Google Calendar, you may only receive SMS messages sporadically.
Getting Help
Your wireless provider can help you troubleshoot most issues related to SMS messaging. Contact your wireless provider using another phone other than your cell phone for assistance. You can also receive assistance from Google by texting the word 'help' to '466453.' If you cannot resolve a performance issue and wish to unsubscribe from the service text, text 'stop' to '466453.'

1. Log into your email account. If you do not have a current email account for sending and receiving emails there are many free services such as Gmail and Yahoo mail available online for you to create your own free email account.
2. Compose a new email. In the 'TO' address field, where you write the email address you wish to send a message type the ten digit phone number you wish to text followed by @msg.telus.com. for example, if you wanted to text the phone number 555-123-4567 you would enter 5551234567@msg.telus.com into the 'TO' address bar.
3. Compose your message. Remember, text messages are usually restricted to 160 characters or less. 2. Once you get there, you'll want to first set up an account. Sending SMS Text Reminders through TextReminders.net is free, so don't worry about it! Sign up with your wireless number and create a password. Oh, and don't forget to set your time zone!!!
3. Then, all you'll have to do is log into your account and set up your reminders. It can be something simple like remembering to pick up your medication on the 15th of every month from the pharmacy or just a cute reminder of your wedding anniversary every year...a few days in advance, so you can prepare! ;)

3. Plug headphones into your computer. These headphones must be the type that customer service representatives wear, with both earphones and a microphone that can be positioned in front of your mouth (see 'Resources' below for an example).
4. Click the 'Dial' tab on your iCall dashboard. Type in the phone number that you want to call using the black numerical keypad (be sure to type 1 before the number for U.S. calls) and then click 'Place Call.' You will hear the Internet VoIP phone dialing.
5. Receive calls for free by giving your friends and family an iCall local access number (you will be given a list to choose from at sign up) and your extension. When your friends and family members call the access number, they will be prompted to enter your extension, and the call will come through to your computer as long as you have the iCall program up and running with a working Internet connection.

2. Select Mauritius for the country and the country code and enter the phone number that you wish to send your text to.
